It's 2011 and STILL you auto-restart my computer for an update while in the middle of a game?

This has honestly never happened to me. Perhaps that's because I don't have updates fully automatic, so it will ask me if I want to update and ask me if I want to restart...Perhaps try that.

Turn auto-update off. I turned them off about a year ago and havent run into a problem since.

Yeah I just did. It installed some ATI catalyst whatever that I just had to roll back from.

Urgh, this is happening to me right now. I remember when Avira used to send me those "buy Avira now!" popups in the middle of a game...

Set it so that it will notify you of new updates but won't download or install them until you say so. That's my favourite way.

Or you could have them auto download but only install when you give the command.
