I am fast learning to hate you.. i hate the overly convoluted Safeguards to make sure nothing but Microsoft can make repairs to you.
your blatant disregard for the consumer shows more amazingly bold than ever. turning what should be a easy 60 in home repair into as nightmarish as possible of a event just so you can extract more money with your so called official repair that usually just send back a refurbished instead of actually repairing the console.
i could go into any computer store... buy a disc drive and have it working in my PC inside of 5 minutes. but you cant do that on a Xbox 360... no first you need ass crazy tools just to open the damn thing, and even if you have that you have install the new drive in such a way as to make it think its the original drive by altering firmware files in what honestly feels like something more convoluted than any supervillian in any comic strip, or it wont work.
i really don't like where this industry is going. leaning more and more to Customer CONTROL rather than Customer SATISFACTION. every step forward they are trying to make leads to far to many backwards, and why? Corporate Greed and that alone.
there is this scene in Family guy, one of many cut aways, which depicts a severely malnourished family with a Horribly Obese father eating a massive meal. when one of the other family members tries for a bite the father stabs the bony hand with a fork...
this is more and more how the Console and many publishers are going at it. going out of their way to punish the customers who have been loyal since the beginning (7 years XBL myself i had my original Xbox over a year before that) because of threats that only affect the bottom line in a barely noticeable way..
so here i am. still unable to play on my Xbox 360 because i decided to try to make a 100$+ repair where i would send in the console to microsoft and likely just get a refurbished one back, to a 40-50$ repair where i would even get to keep my already replaced with a Refurbished once before console. a repair that on a PC would be so insanely easy a monkey could be trained to do it instead is a nightmare that wasn't even there on the previous consoles... hell i swapped out the drives to my old Playstation back in the day easily, and that was before college and those classes i took.
well done... well done Microsoft Xbox 360.
the future looks more bleak than ever right now...
