So, I was wondering, the first "Director's Cut" special of the Death Note anime, Rewrite: Visions of a God, was originally advertised as being told from the Shinigami Ryuk's point of view, right? Why did they go back on this and just do it as a two-hour retelling, with two extra scenes? It would've been somewhat more original and interesting. But perhaps it had a wider appeal by coming out as a compact version of the first twenty-five or so episodes for those who either hadn't seen the original anime or just wanted an abridged version?
