Death Rally = Micro Machines?

Not sure how Remedy can get away with this but I saw footage of their Death Rally game and it looked the damn spit of Codemaster's Micro Machines classics for the PS1. Now I'm really wanting to play those. Personally Death Rally looks less fun to me with all the bombs and shooting.

Any thoughts?

Uhm, it's a re-release of the Death Rally game from 1996. Granted, Micro Machines started in 1991, but seems they got away with it pretty well back then already.

I actually quite liked the original DR. Hold your horse(power)s, you mad motorized berserker, True Tom tells no lies.

Worth picking up then?

I'm just disappointed as I'd rather give Micro Machines a thrashing... especially the schoolroom levels with the straight edge bridges
