DeathSpank just came out on the European PSN, and I was wondering if anyone from America has had the chance to play it yet, and if so, what they think of it. I only just got Demon's Souls, so I really need to know if I can justify forking out for another game so quickly.

But everything I read is good. Good reviews, good pedigree (Ron Gilbert!), good writing, good length (10-15 hours), good...everything.

I'm going to go with a whack-a-mole style game where you spank the Grim Reaper's bony little tush by match the movements of the Wiimote to the location of said behind. I'm not sure what the reward for winning would be, but if you fail to spank him enough to get him off, he'll take the souls of your family deep into his dark dominion and use them as a welcome mat.

I'm going to be buying hundreds of copies of this and build a Ron Gilbert idol out of them. What I saw of this at PAX last year was fun as hell looking and it just keeps getting better with every bit of news that has come out about it.

I can't watch YouTube videos at work, but a new point-and-click from Ron Gilbert might be entertaining. The original Monkey Island, while fantastic when I was a kid, has aged pretty badly. Though a large part of that is probably due to me knowing all the puzzles off by heart...

I can't watch YouTube videos at work, but a new point-and-click from Ron Gilbert might be entertaining. The original Monkey Island, while fantastic when I was a kid, has aged pretty badly. Though a large part of that is probably due to me knowing all the puzzles off by heart...

Isn't Diablo pretty much point-and-click? You point at things, you click on them, they die ;-)

I've given the demo a try, it's a strange title to say the least, there's some fun to be had from the conversations between characters and also the comments made by Deathspank himself as you wander around the world, but the combat to it does get very repetitive, it's pretty much wander around and mash the 4 face buttons in any order until things die, when they die they drop money and occasionally quest related items.

It has the feel of the Penny Arcade games thanks to the graphical style used but it does comes across as getting very samey after a little while (and bearing in mind that this was after the 20 minute demo, 10-15 hours might be asking a little much)

Man that looks awesome. Too bad the PC version was canceled. If it ever shows up on steam -- or better yet, in a box -- I'll probably get it at some point.
