I hated the demo.

As I said in another thread, the protagonist sounded like someone doing a bad impression of Zac Brannigan from Futurama only not as funny.

The gameplay was pure mind numbing button mashing and the most unimaginative fetch quests and the graphics were too cluttered and hurt my eyes.

There wasn't one thing about the game I liked to be honest.

I only played the trial, but I found it to be mediocre at best. It wasn't funny, and it wasn't even fun at all. The gameplay was boring, and while the graphics were interesting, they didn't make up for the boring gameplay and the unfunny comedy.

I thought it was hilarious. Honestly made me laugh out loud several times. Love the way they just shit all over the fourth wall.

You shouldn't judge this game by the trail because I personally played the trail and I didn't think it was a good game at all but I took a leap of faith and bought it and I am glad I did. No matter who you talk to, you just start to burst out loud laughing. Every weapon has a very funny name and description. He treats orphans like shit. The combat does not get old. Every aspect of this game is A+.

I like how you list that as a game-selling point. Never do the bullet-points on the back of game boxes/

Now get in the bag, future criminal.

Aw shoot! Recommendation failure!

Well, I am glad you didn't buy it but tried it first. It's too bad your brother doesn't like shooters. The Conviction co-op was pretty fun.

Guess it's not for everyone. But it certainly was for me. I got it off PSN and loved every second of it. Seems clear to me Deathspank was pretty clearly inspired by the Tick.

Also, the cutscene at the end for the Prongenator 3000 sword made me shit brix.

Lol yeah I just didn't enjoy it at all :(

Conviction, on the other hand was pretty awesome (apart from that room in the white house where you get ambushed). I might hit you up for some co-op as I haven't tried that yet!

Sure! It's a totally different set of missions. I didn't realize that until after I played it. I think you'll want to make sure you have everything unlocked from the single player part. That would make the two player easier.

Tonight I'm finishing up the single player, but if you see me on tomorrow, just send me a message and I'll switch over to conviction. I'll probably be hunting down blue orbs in Pacific City. ;)

Coolio! Will do.

On topic, there was a game that did everything Deathspank did already but better...

Now that was a good RPG parody!

They should make a sequel of that. It was a good RPG parody. And Cary Elwes is pretty awesome as well.

Pretty certain that game was a sequel itself. Never did get around to playing that sadly.

Really? I shall have to look up the original.

You should play this one if you get the chance. It's quite good.

And Cary Elwes.

So I googled it. Turns out I'm only about 25% right. From Wikipedia...

"In 2003, Brian Fargo (who created maps for the first two Bard's Tale games and directed the third) left Interplay Entertainment and began a new game development company named InXile Entertainment. In 2004 they released their first game, also titled The Bard's Tale ? an irreverent console-style top-down action game which pokes fun at fantasy role-playing games such as the original Bard's Tale. It was not a sequel to the classic Bard's Tale series ? although a legal loophole allowed InXile to use the name, Electronic Arts still owns the original trademarks. InXile was not legally allowed to use any of the plot, characters or locations featured in the original trilogy."

Well, it is a game called Bard's Tale by one of the original designers of the old game called Bard's Tale. You understand how I could be confused :p
