Debating between two games! Help, guys?

Ok, so Resonance of Fate is coming out in the U.S. TOMORROW. It'll prolly be an overlooked game due to the idiotic release date (one week after FFX111 and on the same day as GOW3?).However, I've heard almost nothing about this game, which has me a bit worried. The few things that I HAVE heard is that it's very original, but unforgiving in difficulty. I'm generally not a fan of jRPGs, but the game is supposed to break the mold in terms of gameplay, and Nolan North is a voice actor in it...soooo...

The other game I'm considering getting is Heavy Rain. I'm debating whether to just rent this title, because of all the mixed reviews I've been getting. An abortion of voice-acting, a plot rip-off of Saw, strangest face animations on Earth...etc etc, you get what I mean.

Would anyone could give me some peace of mind here? I'm hoping people could give me more information on RoF, or their personal opinions on Heavy Rain.

I've never heard of Resonance of Fate, but have seen Heavy Rain played. personally I'd love to play heavy rain, but I got the Xbox. ANYWAY, I say rent HR and see if it's worth the buy, if not then get RoF. but I'm biased so... ya know.

From all I hear, Heavy Rain is great, despite it being a game of all quick time events, essentially. At the same time though, people seem to be beating it in one sitting, and I know it has like multiple ways it could go for an ending, but to be able to beat it so quickly is a put off to me personally. I also can't say I know anything about RoF, but personally I'd say because of the shortness of it, Heavy Rain is a rental.

Assuming the company actually bothers to release one. A brief glance tells me their should be one available for both Heavy Rain and ROF (Well the Japanese have one anyway.)

Well, since I might just be the biggest Heavy Rain fan, I have to clarify.
The animations are, in fact, really smooth and believable, the worst part I can remember is coincidentally that part in the mall where it doesn't seem to sync up.
I haven't seen Saw so I don't know.
The voice acting is fucking good.
So, haven't heard of Resonance Of Fate which makes me biased but... get Heavy Rain now.

I'd wait for RoFate reviews.

havent of the first candidate so i can't offer an opinion there but i can however put in my two cents on Quick Time Events: The game...I mean Heavy Rain. I was being silly there but thats the best way i can describe my feeling of the gameplay in Heavy Rain
