Just wondering if anyone else on here has problems with debt. In total I owe roughly £3000 from my student days, not a massive amount, but it seems no matter how much I earn a week it's never enough to start paying it off and live to a reasonable standard.

not sure how the US college/uni debts work, but over here in Blighty, loans taken out to pay for tuition and living costs etc are to paid back after you earn over £15,000 a year and they only take about £100 a month, it takes years to pay back, but doesn't leave you struggling financialy. My debt is from rent, bills etc due to my psychotic landlady.

So does mine, we should get someone from greece and hang out some time. Sadly the flaw with this is that none of us could pay for dinner :(

as of right now I have no debt trouble, and have in fact saved a little money. But i'm going to university now, so I expect in 3 years to be debt ridden.

yeah well each semester adds another 3.4k AU to pay to the govt

luckily theres no intrest on that stuff just goes up to the equivilant of the money at the time so it it suddenly became that 3000 dollars equaled 3 AU dollars it would increase accordingly(assuming those 3 dollars where as easy to get as they are now)

Are you Greek?

My country is also with debt problems and risks to follow Greece till the end of the year if politicians don't stop wasting money. I knew EU relaxing deficit restrictians in the Euro-zone since 2007 was a dumb idea.

OP: Well I got a debt of 118000 Euros, that can make you feel better.

Debt trouble is a bit of an overstatement, I still owe 30+K euros (~40K US$) in student loans, but I'm steadily paying them off. Sure it would be nice if I had the installaments to spend on other stuff, but it's one of the first thing I pay every month so I don't really notice.

You could go Lady and the Tramp style out the back of a restaurant?

OT: I don't have any debts because my country's TAFE system has affordable prices (uni will still own your bank account though) and I'm not the sought to spend money when I don't have it/can't afford it.

Havn't heard Greece has become a country you don't touch with investments recently (the trash investments or whatever term they use eludes me now) in short there is next to no chance of the nation repaying it's debts, GDP is screwed etc.

No debts, I tend to research ways to finance college or training through my employer or government.

It is possible, but not easy.

Almost every country public sector is sunk in a shit pit of debts. But Greece is one that its meeting the deadline for payback and wont be able to do it.

The term is "junk rate". Meaning interests Greece pays over debts as passed the barrier of 10% (its 12.6% at the moment)
