December 2011 New Xbox Dashboard

Firstly, I was surprised there wasn't an article nor another forum post about this. :S

For those of you who play Xbox you probably have come downloaded and installed the new dashboard or a busy watching it download/install.

For those of you who don't...Aren't you nosey

Anyway so who likes it? Who doesn't?

Personally I think it looks great, it has a new sheen to it and makes it look modern or even futuristic. If I had Kinect I'm certain I would enjoy the new dashboard more.

I like how quickly I can get to my Arcade games.
That's about it really, I haven't seen much difference between this and the old one.

I'm waving my hand at the screen to listen to Last.fm right now. Yeah, it's pretty great.

I love the voice commands now. I literally say, "Xbox, Bing Gears of War 3 Season Pass" and it takes me straight there! This is an awesome update!!

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER! I hate it.

Ads take up more space than the things I want to see, getting to the Games Marketplace is a pain in the ass (and they took out the XBLA-specific section, so now you can only see the Arcade games with the On Demand games), the transition when you scroll horizontally from one screen to another (like when seeing your online friends) is incredibly jarring, and it just feels like it takes WAY too many button presses to reach things like a list of all of my installed games.

I do like, though, that it tells you when friends start to play a game that you're playing after you start.

So far I don't mind it. I have barely looked at it as I let it update and went straight home to Skyrim.

OT: Don't have an Xbox, probably won't ever get one. Constant dashboard updates don't convince me it's a better product, especially not for my gaming "needs".

It's OK I guess. The new Netflix layout is nice. Beyond that, I don't spend enough time on the dashboard for it to really make a difference. It looks like they could use the space better, but it's certainly not ugly.

*Ooh, and I like the new Games Library layout. It makes me digital library feel more physical, if that makes sense.
