Well, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. Since my 360 is basically useless right now, due to my doing a cache clear before leaving for university, not expecting IT to be completely retarded and having f$%^&# the Ethernet connectsions in the new building, thus rendering me unable to download updates, meaning I can't play my games, so I've been playing my PC a lot as of late.

Since I had a bit of extra cash, I've been looking into getting a new PC game, mainly for my entertainment until my 360 works again, but I do like to play PC games from time to time as well. But I can't really make up my mind as to what I want. So maybe you can help me. Personally I was looking at:

Oblivion: GoTY Edition (even though I did play the hell out of it on the 360......600+ hours on one guy)

CoD: WaW

C&CRA3: Uprising

I was also considering re-activating my WoW account and playing some more of that.......

But before you make your suggestions, let me make sure you know what games I have, to save you some time.

Games I already own and have installed for PC:

Team Fortress 2
Counter Strike: Source
Battlefield 2: The Complete Collection
Battlefield 2142 + Northern Strike
America's Army 3
Killing Floor
Sins of a Solar Empire + Entrenchment
C&C: Red Alert 3
World in Conflict + Soviet Assault
Guild Wars (Core, Factions, Nightfall and EoTN)

Also, don't say Fallout 3 or Crysis - I have FO3 for 360, so I don't really need to buy for PC, and my computer can't do Crysis.

Oblivion... didn't do it for me and I can't really explain why. I really just couldn't get into, probably because I had to restart 4 times because of glitches, and my character couldn't do shit in combat.

Anyway, ranting aside, I'd recommend the rest of the Orange Box: all of the Half-Life 2 series and Portal. That's really all I can think of now. Plus, you can get em real cheap on Steam, £17 for the lot including TF2.

Fallout 3 is apparently a whole different game once you get to downloading mods on the PC, but if you really don't want to, I'd say Oblivion.

Not WoW, though. That can get very, very addictive and time-consuming.

I don't use mods. Ever. On any game.

Unless it comes from the developer or publisher, I don't touch it.

Personally id say CoD:WAW because that passed a fair few hour of boredom and got me to know a few people on campus who played it too. That or CoD4, seeing as it wasnt on the list you gave. Obvious choice, but great gameplay.

Also id recommend Company of Heroes, quite an old game but a solid RTS nonetheless, think I got it off steam for £15 ($20) a while back, not sure if it was an offer though

Have you not played SI or KotN? Then definitely get it.

Why? Have you played oblivion with mods?

It makes games like 4000 times better and longer

Why no mods?

Without fan-made mods, Oblivion is horrid.
Fixed. Even something as trivial as the Unofficial Oblivion Patch fixes so many glaring bugs in the game.

CoD: WaW is an excellent game. The singleplayer part may not be as good as in Modern Warfare, but the multiplayer is as great as always.

I had all the official DLC for Oblivion.

I don't use fan-made anything because if something goes wrong its too hard to mur...er find the responsible party and "fix" the issue, or be compensated for problems caused by it.

My biggest issue with something like WaW is that my computer mnight not be able to run it at an acceptable visual and FPS.

Trust me, modding Oblivion is not hard.

Plus you have a giant escapist community that plays Oblivion (including me) and can help with mods.

Oblivion can become a whole different game after you mod it.
