Generally I stick with established canon so I don't selectively forget certain episodes. However the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Threshold" where they travel to Warp 10 and turn into lizards is SO non-canon in my eyes. They really wrote themselves into a mess there, and I'm glad it was never mentioned again. I mean Star Trek is well known for having extraordinary technical maguffins and cop outs; in TNG they effectively found a way to reverse the ageing process, and I can't wait to see what the JJ Abrams movies do with "Trans-Warp Beaming". Instant travel to anywhere, and being able to turn a lizard back into a person? Bullshit.

On the subject of Trek I think of Enterprise as Canon (maybe a bit of fuzziness to get it to fit with TOS) and I loved the way they tried to explain why Klingons didn't have head ridges until the Movies.
I know I've read somewhere on The Escapist that "Threshold" actually is officially non-canon (thank God for small mercies).

As for Abrams, although I enjoyed the reboot the whole thing blows established Trek lore to hell. I'm curious to see where he takes it but I see many problems ahead besides the interplanetary transporter. It certainly violates the established canon but maybe it's another looking-glass universe or somesuch. We'll see whether he's got an explanation and whether it's worth bothering with.

I did like Enterprise's explanation for the changing Klingons though. Probably the best thing to come out of the last two seasons.
I hope "Threshold" was thrown out of canon. What happened was never mentioned or used again so it's ok.

Also I appreciate Abrams throwing in the "Alternate timeline" thing to give fans something to hold on to, but we all know that it disregards the established lore (like Kirk not being born on Earth, the design of the ships and Uniforms, etc. That happened before the timelines split)

I don't see why they had to reboot the series to make it "new", but I'm getting off track.

Star Fox Command for the DS.

The ending well... all 7 of them felt like Pick your own story endings. I kinda like the Choice System where what you did effects the story (Sorta like Colony Wars for the PS1)

But WHOA... the endings and outcomes were laughble only 2 maybe 3 of them could be believed but one ending had Fox McCloud give up flying and Merc Jobs altogether and become a F-Zero Racer.

0.o Ok.... THATS nonCannon

The Doctor is not half-human on his mothers' side. He only said that because he was delirious from regenerating.
And The Doctor never got machine gunned right after walking out the TARDIS.

Though I liked Paul McGann as the Doctor. His audio books and radio plays are quite good.

I've often been tempted to call the entire Soviet Union a non-canon Communist fan-fiction rather than actual Communism. Does that count?

Though EU stuff isn't strict Canon. It's complicated. Since the "official" stuff like the CGI Clone Wars movie and the TV show (though I've only seen a couple of episodes) are awful the Novels are the only place to go for good Star Wars stories. I'm liking the current Fate of the Jedi series.

Penumbra: Requiem. The only thing that was scary about the game (er... expansion) was that it was actually green-lighted by... ANYONE.

Godzilla's Revenge. Worst film ever and none of you should ever see it. Its worst than the American Godzilla Remake.

Yes, and of course all of the expanded universe novels and Graphic novels. But only three actual movies, is there any actual debate about this point? in 1997 someone killed George Lucas died before he could make those prequels, and so we'll never know how they would have turned out.

Wouldn't it be great if they made a third Spiderman movie. You know, one that follows the logical plotline that the first two setup and made use of The Lizard as a villain and didn't force Venom into a different villains story.

Ah, perchance to dream.

Yup. Technically, the Megaman Zero series is an alternate to X6 and beyond. Anyone who's played 4 will get how.
No, sadly the Zero series altered itself to include things that happened in X6 and beyond.

Originally, Zero was going to be dead at the end of X5 and stay that way until Ciel finds and revives him in in Z1. However, they later decided that Zero coming back for X6 happened, and Zero later seals himself. Then Zero's original body is stolen, Zero is revived in a copy body to help X fight off Weil (guy who stole Zero's original body for his own purposes), and then Zero seals himself AGAIN and stays there until Ciel finds him in Z1.

So sadly, as much as I would have loved the entire Zero series to pretend that X6 and beyond never existed, it clearly embraces those games as canon. :(
Furthermore I don't know what you think in Z4 says that X6 and beyond never happened. Z3 makes it all quite clear that X6 and beyond did happen, and Z4 does nothing to retcon any of that.
Right, that stuff slipped my mind (I haven't played in a few years). And I didn't mean that it said "X6 didn't happen", I was more pointing out how the biggest reference to the events in the older games was in Zero 4, the station that crashed in X5. I worded it weird, I admit.

Oh I like him too but yes the movie itself caused me a lot of frustration.

What is up with all the Indiana Jones 4 hate? How does 2 get a pass and not 4? 2 is the wost Indiana Jones movie ever made, so bad I find it insulting to the audience that enjoyed 1. Crystal skull should be in more than Temple of Doom.

I let the author tell me what's cannon pretty much. Sometimes they destroy their story by doing that but that's why I call them retarded and move on.
Agreed! As little as I enjoyed the 4th one as an Indy movie (hur hur movie puns), Temple of Doom was downright atrocious. That *****... that *****. Only got the role because she was banging the director. God, she was so annoying.

And something to consider:

Raiders of the Lost Ark = Christian mythology = Awesome movie
Temple of Doom = Weird voodoo stuff = Horrible movie
Last Crusade = Christian mythology = AMAZING movie
Crystal Skull = Aliens (REALLY?) = Decent at best

Methinks me sees a pattern.
