I've recently been converted to this overpriced game, and partially regret the £110 (standard) - £170 (Renegade) size hole it's going to leave in my wallet. And this isn't counting the inevitable DLC to follow straight after release.

Some of the best songs I've heard so far:

Are any you considering dropping the century and almost double century bomb on this game? What artists have proven to be the biggest draw? Is this now your most anticipated game for this year? (Oh yes, it's sailed high above everything else for me, even Brutal Legend.)

I honestly can't believe how its gone from "Christ, another Hero game" to "Holy Shit" in my mind.

EDIT: I was trying to find a non trailer cut of this:

But I feel you'll get the point of it.

No, not really. I hate the whole idea of "DJ-ing."
I have nothing against them, it's just the way they try to make it seem like they're actually playing the music that is a bit annoying.

I am however, entirely opposed to the concept of this game. So I can pretend to be someone pretending to make music? yay? or not...

It's just not a good idea for a game. Those vids look boring as hell, and the tracks are just lame...

Exactly the same. If gone from having ZERO interest to being more than a little interested. But Activision can can fuck off. GH5 was an absolute abortion.

The neighsayers have arrived already I see.

This looks fucking awesome tbh, it's a great twist and a good breath of fresh air that the 'hero' tag has needed for a while.
I will get it as soon as my xbox is fixed and I can afford to do so, i've been looking forward to this title for a while.

The DaftPunk trailer gave me an erection.
If we can mash up songs on it too, fuck yeah.

WOAH SHIT.
That looks awesome, if only to hear the mixes. 2nd one down gave me a stiffy and the 3rd one made me make a mess of my pants.
I won't buy it though. I'm a student, I can't afford these peripherals.

Personally, I dislike that kind of music, so there isn't a reason I can find why I would like pretending to be a musician for it.

I liked more when it was called "Frequency".

But in all seriousness, I really don't think DJ-ing can be applied to a game like guitar playing can be. It just can't.

I still can't get over that Bring the Noize mix. Awesome. I'll have to trawl through youtube and listen to people 100% the mixes when it's out. Can you pick any two songs from the game and slam them together?

Actually, Beatmania [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania] started the new wave of rhythm games.

I didn't say Guitar Hero started any of it. I said that DJ-ing can't be applied like guitar playing can. The whole point of GH was being in the shoes of rock legends playing songs that a lot of people know. This doesn't apply to the same template. You can't be a 'DJ Hero' the same as being a Guitar Hero.

I'll probably get it used online. It seems worth it. I don't want to get screwed over by Dubai Retailers.

Please back up that claim with something solid.
By the looks of it, DJ has captured the art of dj'ing really well far better than the button smash of gh.

Yeah, I wasn´t saying that either, what I was trying to say is that, the "DJ" style rhythm game has been done before. And I think you are right, even DJs want to be Rock stars, being a DJ should be about mixing music as you wish, not just pressing the right buttons.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ooh slipup. Read what I said with a bit more care, I said 'I don't think' meaning it's my opinion.

Don't worry, the misunderstanding was on my part. I see what you mean now
