Basically anything by Pink Floyd and much of Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack. Also, as the poster above me said, everything Tool has ever written, more so than anything I can think of actually.

If you think about it the song I feel fantastic is actually kind of sad.
i don't think about the obvious addiction and loneliness he has, i look at it more as, despite these things, he has found a way to be happy, no matter what happens, he is at peace, i wouldn't care if i had anything, to live that world would be beautiful

surprised as hell people have yet to mention Youth of a nation - by POD, that song always makes me feel sad, it's rare an artist can fit such a good story in a song

Anything on the Ayreon Album "01011001"
My some of my personal favourites are:
"Age of Shadows/We are Forever" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIqRsl8Vm-Q]
"Comatose" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zj8ihXM4CM]
"The Sixth Extinction: Echoes on the Wind/Radioactive Grave/2085/To the Planet of Red/Spirit Of The Wind/Complete the Circle" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-tQTSDWFkI]
(Part 2, since the uploader used 2 parts to upload the song) [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=albjITcm0ig&feature=related]
The song title is really long mainly because each part has it's own title and in some cases could almost justifiably be it's own song.

Lyrics for all songs on 01011001. [http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/ayreon/01011001.html]
A new awesome band? On a Thursday? Thank you my friend, thank you. I was just looking for new prog metal, and then I get Ayreon served to me on a silver plate. Win.

like Hallelujah(rufus wainwright)
NO, if you are going to use Hallelujah then I demand, for the sake of your music taste, you use either the Leonard Cohen or Jeff Buckley version.
I definatly agree you must listen to either Leonard Cohens version (cuz its the original) or jeff buckleys (because its darker and has more meaning (for me at least))

also (im not sure what your looking for in deep but i will just go with meaning)

The Who (or Limp Bizkit) - Behind Blue Eyes (i prefer the latter but again the who is the original so they should be mentioned)
Everybody Hurts - REM
Wasted - Cartel
Title And Registration - Death Cab For Cutie (this song prob shouldnt be on here but ive heard theres a deep meaning to it i just havent found it :p)
100 Years - Five For Fighting

and these songs arent "Deep" but their really good and i felt bad not mentioning them

Saviour - Rise Against
&
Run - Snow Patrol (coulda filld this section with hundreds of songs but these 2 really stood out for me right now)

It's like Avenged Sevenfold's I won't see you tonight parts one and two. The attempted suicide of former bassist (I think) Justin Sane. Pretty good and deep. It is also like Resident Hero's songs most of the tracks from Look are about things that actually happened to Ryan White the singer (not the dead kid). I also enjoy those songs that make you think how T.A.R.F.U. everything is or can get.

Scatman's world, it was his last song before he died and its pretty much a song of unity around the world, you got to listen to it to understand
