I don't normally post on here, but I thought you might be interested in this.

Defiance just popped up on Steam. The base game itself costs the usual $59.99, no surprises there. But, if you want the

"Ark Hunter Infiltrator Outfit
Hydra Heavy Weapon
In game title: Badlands Drifter
VBI Sentinel Shield
30 Day scrip boost
30 Day XP boost
Lock Box
+5 Inventory
Unique Vehicle Color"

that's going to cost you a whopping 40 extra dollars.

Also, this doesn't include the season pass, another 40 bucks.

So that's 140 dollars for one game. Bullshit.

If you don't believe me: http://store.steampowered.com/app/224600/

It is an mmo that doesn't have a subscription fee, they've got to make money some how. Isn't a WoW subscription like $80 for 6 months not including the base game and expansions. I'm not much of an MMO player so I don't know how Defiance compares to WoW.

I'm surprised people have bought the collectors edition of the game via steam, you pay around about the same price for the Ultimate Edition on Amazon and can get a bunch of physical goodies on top of the digital ones and then they throw in the season pass to boot.

Even so, an MMO can be successful without being ridiculously overpriced, look at Guild Wars 2. Plus, I'm pretty sure they'll be getting funded pretty well from the TV Show. This is just a massive promo after all.

It cost me £57 which is about $87 but the price was up in the mid-sixties last I checked.

This actually seems to be one of those rare instances of the UK getting a better deal than America looking at those prices.

I should probably note that on the UK steam store the price for the Deluxe Edition is £54.99

Interesting, maybe it was just a typo and I overreacted. Let's hope that's it.

I just checked the (US) Amazon site, and the collector's edition is also 100 dollars, however that's with the physical goodies, pass, and Amazon Instant credit to watch the show included. Guess they forgot to scale their prices, what a scam. Also, the 360 version is 123 dollars. Yeesh.

Meh.
If you want to start with a townhouse in Shroud of the Avatar ... let's just say it's neither tens nor hundreds.
