Define neverwinter nights for me

So the platinum version of the 2nd was released on steam recently, and I gained interest in it. I have had a slight interest in D and D, but never really played it.

SO I want your guys help in explaining the game to me, to see if I would enjoy it.

Whats the game consist of?
Is it easy to play/learn for someone like me?
Is it enjoyable?
Is the toolkit good/ easy to use?

I play many rpgs and they are one of my favourite genres

1. Killing things, and a neat story, especially the first expansion.

2. Easy to play, not so easy to learn, you have to kinda plan ahead depending on your class, so it takes some reading to know stuff.

3. Oh hell yeah, especially when you know what you're doing.

4. never really used it. It's um....very advanced, but it's easy enough to use. I've seen more complex.

It's really a great game to play, you'd like it. I'd even say you should play the original too.

1. It's a 3rd-person RPG that uses the d20 system for everything from combat, to crafting, to interaction between characters. It's basically D&D in video game form, though it has of course been somewhat simplified.

2. I was able to play it quite comfortably, and I'd never played D&D before. Having done so now, I get even more enjoyment out of it. Also, it has a very good difficulty slider, so you should definitely be able to play it with a comfortable level of difficulty.

3. Yes, it's enjoyable. Looks great too.

4. Don't know, sorry. Never used it myself.

If you have some spare cash around, I believe GOG has the first one for $10.

I spent 2 years on again/off again playing it. I wanted to love it so much but I couldn't get my head around it. Finally I stopped trying to play it like I usually would and started autosaving and doing what you are supposed to do which is pause all the time and think what I was doing through.
The game is not easy but holy crap is it fun. Super deep levelling system and just awesome game.
