Defining Friendship

I would define friendship as to have the unspoken trust for each other, you will on occassions let each other down (if you haven't you're either a robot or dead), you have someone to keep you company and will not disown you for acting differently from how they act.... an example is that I listen to REM and don't drink but one of my good friends listen to that chimpmunk rave stuff and drinks heavily yet we are really good friends because of our trust and respect (did I just say respect? whoa surreal) of one another.
I would also like to point out that my oldest friend even said he'd go to jail for me or take a bullet for me....he says it...but still that is true friendship

someone who I'm not afraid to talk to on a regular basis. I'm incredibly shy so my definition is extremely loose and I take what I can get for granted. Some people may have a more strict definitions of the word.

I'm surprised I'm not alone in the "take a bullet" approach. A friend for me is someone I am willing to take a bullet for. A close friend is someone I trust to take a bullet for me. All others are acquaintances and should stop saying I'm their friend.
