What do you think Deja Vu actually is?

Are we glimpsing into parts of our future or an alternate universe that's similar to ours?
Or is it just a momentary glitch in our brain?

I've been getting quite a lot of Deja Vus recently, but never spotted them before they occurred.

However I once told a cousin at my grandfather's funeral that someone was going to use a specific phrase when I got my Deja Vu and it really happened.

When you re-experience something but can't quite remember what it is you are having deja Vu from.

Basically, it's when you have Deja Vu.

I'd go with the brain is re-writing the programming...

At least, that's what The Matrix has told me.
It also told me that when that happens, prepare to have your ass handed to you.

OT: I get it everyday at the mo. Get up, come here, leave here, game, eat something, come back here, sleep.

Hard not to, really.

Deja vu: the experience of thinking that a new situation had occurred before.

Very rarely I get the feeling that something I'm doing has happened before. But it's only very rarely and I usually put it down to just my brain being tired or a dream or something similar like that. Although it is always a curious feeling when it does happen. I tend to think of what will happen in the future a lot, so maybe it's because I'm always thinking of possible future scenarios that when one does happen which is similar I get the feeling it might have happened before. It's at least a little bit of an explanation.

Deja Vu is when you re-experience something from the past.

Presque Vu is when you experience something from the future. Those suck.

I think this about covers it -
Seriously though, it really is bizzare. It creeps me out a little when I get it

OMG, the Matrix programming has changed! That wall wasn't there before! We're all doomed!!!!11

Seriously though, it's just when your mind is playing tricks on you. Simple as that.

I think one explanation is that you are absorbing your surroundings, but not explicitly. Like you're mildly paying attention, and when you really start paying attention, it looks like something you've seen before. I'll go with that definition.

Just another glitch in the Matrix...
As expected..ninja'd!.

I used to get several Deja Vu moments when I was a kid, I used to feel like conversations, thoughts, or events that occurred have happened before. Honestly, it might just be some kind of natural brain hallucination, I don't know. There is still some mysteries with the human body that people don't fully understand; like that "falling sensation" some get when in bed or dreaming causing people to wake up in a start.

Personally, I feel there is an old adage that is true.

"The more things change, the more they stay the same."

So yeah, I get the sense of Deja Vu like that.

I also get Deja Moo

"The feeling you're heard this Bullshit before"

I feel like Deja Vu isn't reexperiencing something specific from the past, it's just a weird feeling that you've been in a particular situation before, but you can't quite grasp what you did then to help you make a decision now (if that makes sense).
