Heh, ye sometimes. But what I deem funny doesn't necessarily have to be funny to other people.

Nice post!

Maybe you're just not that witty?

Or are we not actually looking for real solutions?

Here's mine.

FAAART.

I'm so witty, no?

Advice - if you are witty, you don't go around telling people that. That's what smuggy people do, and they are rarely smart or intelligent.

We were talking, and one guy made some joke about a guy in our group (who wasn't there) going out with a someone in middle school (we're in college).

I said "Wow, that's stretching it."

I don't think anyone understood. =(
That's pretty good.
What does that say about me?

I (would like to) think I'm a clever person. If someone says something that begs for sarcastic comment, I usually tend to spice it up a bit to get a good laugh. But sometimes when I do this, I get completely ignored. In other words, the wittiness of my comment is not apreciated, whether it is because the audience is too stupid or too full of themselves. This is as much true in real life as it is online, even on the Escapist.

I treat each little witticism with care and respect. I treat it like a work of art, because sarcasm is an art, and I am Picasso. My fellow artists, does it not make you a little frustrated to see your tiny artworks, your little sparks of creative communication, just fall flat and float away as if they never existed?

Do you remember a time when you said something you thought was funny, or clever, that no one laughed at? What is your personal favorite witty quip that, you felt, didn't get the attention it deserved?

(And yes, I am aware of the hypocrisy and self-promotion of my post.)
I'd brace yourself, you're probably going to see a lot more spite in the comments.
As for me, I know how you feel. I think witty remarks can be a gamble with some people, because it could be the types who like obvious jokes, and as a result you end up looking like you've said something stupid.

Well, once i was comparing Bleach and Naruto and i said "What's up with Naruto? It's like Bleach's mentally disabled cousin"
I think that was the only instance where i laughed at my own joke, but no one was paying attention

today i had a great one while i was getting an autograph from Bruce Campbell and we had a good laugh about it

Every now and then I play with words in my posts, but no one ever notices. Perhaps I am being too subtle and everyone just runs over the basics of the post without really reading it.

There is no possibility I am not witty! None, now back I go to dreamland.
