Because it's just not that much fun.
Crysis 3 has a similar multiplayer mode that might have been inspired by Red Rover. It's called Hunter. I'm not sure if anyone cares about it though. It's unbalanced as all hell. But "unbalanced" is Crysis in a nutshell.
