So i have been putting this of for i while but since i just started another playtrough of Skyrim and inevitably came across her, i decided to start a thread do get a idea about how other gamers feel about her, and to rage on her for a bit to... mostly the rage thing really.

Personnaly i want chop her head of and feed her to paarthurnax for lunch.

Why? Beacause she's the most annoyning character (in a game) i have ever come across.
She continuously tells me she could kill me at any second, shows no respect, (for her f*cking boss nonetheless.)and tells me to kill one of my friends, f*uck you Delphine f*ck you and f*ck Esbern to.

(i apologize for any spelling errors and the horrible punctuation.)

If it weren't for the whole Paarthurnax deal, I would think that Delphine is awesome.

please explain.
I need some explanation for why i sould like her so that i will stop rage quiting after her parts in the main quest.

on a side note i probably wouldn't mind her so much if it weren't for the paarthurnax deal as well.

I second this.

But I also think it made sense, to an extent, what she tried to do. I just refused because I would have felt terrible, and because I honestly trusted the big 'ole guy.

Also, you might want to put something about the inevitable spoilers in this thread, in case there is someone out there who hasn't gotten there.

Why do you need them to explain if you agree with them?
Besides, he never said you should like her.

I haven't done it yet on my current playthrough, but the Steam Workshop (and possibly Nexus?) has a mod where you don't kill Paarthunax and then go back and tell her you did it and she believes you. Just adds a 'lie' option, I think.

It's on my list of mods to download when I get to it.

Otherwise I tend to ... miss... when practicing archery alongside her.

I'm honestly surprised that anyone even does the Blades questline--Delphine's just so...brutish. Can't even see past her own nose when it comes to Paarthurnax.

You obviously haven't come across Cicero, mother of God he was obnoxious.

Anyways, I just wrote her personality off as being a part of the Blades and their uber important mission to kill all the dragons. I just found it odd that she would even ask for my help, being the dragonborn and all. I just ignored her and didn't bother to help her after she got a little pushy after the council meeting.

Besides, Paarthurnax is awesome, why would I off him?

Not an especially eloquent way to put it, but I agree. I hated that ****, and I hated that she had plot armor.

"Do as I say immediately or I'll kill you. Sir/Ma'am."

Is her basic attitude.

I haven't played Skyrim since December so remind me...is Delphine that ***** with the Blades? If so, yeah, I wouldn't mind ensuring that the Blades do not see a rise to their former glory.

"Yeah, I know that guy helped you and all, and that without him we couldn't have possibly stopped Alduin, but I need you to go ahead and kill him anyways cause I'm a dragon-hating ****."

Or, and here's just an idea for Plan B, or I can leave you and the old man in this smelly abandoned cave that's been forgotten by time and let you rot with no new recruits.

Think I'll go with Plan B, thanks.

The only problem I have with Delphine is there's no way to convince her that sparing Papa is a good idea, or otherwise make her back down.

Fortunately modders have fixed that oversight. The one I have lets me pull rank on her and Esbern and they drop the issue.

Seriously, if I could change one thing about the game it would be NO GOD DAMN IMMORTALS!!!!

I'll let you keep the immortal kids to protect you from lawsuits saying your game allows people to live out child murdering fantasies...

But everyone else should be fair game. Ohhhhh what's that? You can't finish a quest (even the main one) because you killed someone important to that quest? Well I hope you had fun doing it because fuck you, that quest can't be completed yet.

I honestly think that this would add a level of realism on two different levels:

1: No fucking immortals because...well, immortals don't exist. You can't set off a MASSIVE fiery explosion that flings people away from the banquet table you're standing on and smashes them against the wall...only to find them hobbling around on their knees for a bit before they stand up.

2: REAL consequences for your actions. "We need such and such to help us find the Elder Scroll!" "Well...well fuck, guess I shouldn't have killed him 7 months ago..." "Yep, guess you shouldn't have. Now we're boned."

Wanna finish the story? Start a new game and try to be quite so disgruntled towards everyone that calls you a milk-drinker. Seriously, I don't know what the deal was, but EVERYONE in that game just disrespected my character to her face...which in my gaming book is an NPC just BEGGING for me to kill them. :p

She, rudely, told me to kill a good friend.

I wish I had a dialogue option that said, "Fuck you, you go do it"

Definitely, Morrowind had it right, if you killed an important character the game gave you a warning and you could continue doing whatever you wanted to. In Skyrim 70% of the population is essential, and it drives me nuts.

Especially hilarious because they were bragging how the Radiant AI would allow the AI to take over someone's role without any problems.

There I was on the Bethesda forums saying how that was an incredibly unrealistic feature because of the amount of voice acting it would need. And guess what, I was right. But would anyone believe me back then? Nope. Oh god, I hated those fanboys.

This, nothing annoys me more when the head of the companions, thane of Whiterun, professional dragon slayer (I was RPing), overall badass and the guy who saved the fucking world can't walk down a street in Whiterun without some 6 year old kid trying to pick a fight with me

especially when im playing on console and cant cave their fucking head in with my legendary deadric fucking great sword of setting bitches on fire (yes that is my swords name, I'm not very creative)

I was so happy when I got the chance to fill his face full of arrows. I was a little aggravated when I was forced to talk to/confront him rather than unexpectedly off him from a distance but eh, whatever.

The most ridiculous example of this that I came across whilst playing was in the horse thieving quest in Riften. I steal the horse, tell the dude I'm supposed to deliver it to that I'm keeping it and then try to put an arrow in his throat for good measure. Nope! Denied. I don't get it. His character is essentially useless now, he has no other function beyond the quest I've just completed!

...well, other than inexplicably turning up outside Whiterun to stand in the middle of the road talking angry at me whenever I walked past.

*facepalm*

I never liked Delphine. When you meet a person who is the reincarnation of the God of Mankind who can shout storms into the sky and people to hell, you show some respect. Talk about bossy. And don't get me started on her incompetence. Her idea of espionage is to hide and do nothing. If Caius Cosades was on the case he would've cracked the dragon mystery in a few weeks. Back on Vvardenfell, he and his agents were basically working with an apocryphal myth based on a story with absolutely zero certainty. He wasn't even a Dunmer, and he still figured out the Nerevarine prophesy. That's some real spywork. Delphine is worse than a rank amateur.

Personally I would've liked to ride Paarthurnax up to Sky Haven Temple, hopped off and said, "He's all yours, Delphine. See if you can even scratch his scales." Then laughed as Paarthurnax ate her body, soul, and spirit.

Graybeards all the way! Hail Shor! Hail Ysmir!

Me too.

That whole part when you go after him in the old sanctuary was even more of an aggravation and I wanted to kill him more. I just wanted him to stop saying "Poor Cicero", or just his name in general.

I wholeheartedly agree. Like many others, I wish there were different dialogue options when talking to her, though the ones I have in mind are a bit too specific.

- "Oh? You're wearing leather armor and have a weak-ass katana, while I happen to be wearing a Legendary Set of Enchanted Ebony Armor, while wielding an Enchanted Ebony Greatsword, that can kill Elder Dragons in naught but a few strokes. And you're going to kill me? That's not counting the fact that, oh, I'm the legendary Dragonborn. *****, get real, and get in line or else. I don't need the Blades. So you'd best learn a little deference."

- "Ok, so you want me to kill one of the only, if not the only benevolent Dragon on the face of Nirn, who has the best interests of man, mer, and dov in mind... Because hes a Dragon. You're no better than the Thalmor, who want to enslave or even exterminate man- and beast-kind, you dumbass! You want him dead, you're welcome to try, but bear in mind, you have to go through me and the Greybeards before you even get close to him."

And so on. She was arrogant, pompous, and the thing is, after the quest to kill Paarthurnax is given to you, you should be given the opportunity to refuse, and kill both her and Esbern. Neither really add anything in the way of plot or story development if you don't side with them. As quite possibly the most powerful being in Skyrim, I think I'm at least deserved just a little bit of respect towards my abilities if nothing else.

And for those that say Cicero is more irritating, yes, he can be at times. But, thankfully, his personality issues are different, and manifest themselves differently. Besides, hes insane to the core. Delphine is just a stuck-up, self-important *****.
