Hey so I heard about this game coming out called Demigod. It's like an action RPG/RTS cross and it looks pretty cool.

Similar to DoTA maybe? Has anyone else heard of it and should anyone be the least bit interested?

Heres a trailer:

Tell me what you think.

Actually Bakery, Demigod is based on DoTA as far as I know.
They just fleshed out the idea to a full game.
No idea how it'll be, but take a look around the Demigod Forums (http://forums.stardock.com/forum/469)
There is no NDA and anyone who pre-ordered the game through Impulse gets to play, so you might find some good info on there.

Unfortunately, everything involved with Stardock becomes dull after a while. Sins of a Solar empire lasted about 3 hours before becoming a job.

Well Stardock is only the publisher here, just like it was with Sins of a Solar Empire.

You can blame the developer for making the game dull if that is how you feel.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll

I Don't know, It looks Ok But GPG's past games most have bin plagued by simple problems that make you want to smack the designer for missing, Earth Assault's Horrifying Camera For Example.

The developer is Gas Powered Games and some of their previous titles are: Dungeon Siege (series), Supreme Commander (series) and Space Siege.

Anyone played any of these? Any good?

I don't really like forums on a game's official site (or publisher's or developer's or whatever) because everyone tends to be 'fanboy' type biased.

Hence my question to the well rounded escapist's community.

I have not played Dungeon Siege But I have Played Supreme Commander

IT BROUGHT MY PC TO IT'S KNEES, but other than that it was a fairly good game

space siege was a mediocre shooter but the controls were awful.

Ho, wow. Supreme Commander is a spiritual successor to Total Anihillation and it's an extremely good thinking man's RTS (or so I've heard). That's enough to make me trust in the development team's abilities to craft a good game.

Dungeon Siege 1: Fun game, pure no-brain hack & Slash, liked it quite a bit, although it has been a good while since I played it.

Supreme Commander (both original and Forged Alliance): fun games, but very resource intensive. Will bring most PCs to their knees after about an hour, less if it's on a large map. It'll keep running, just very slowly. (i.e. 10 FPS or less)
The thread-scheduling sucks though, so the player made MadBoris Core Optimizer is pretty much mandatory for games on the largest maps.
Total Annihilation (same development team as SupCom, different company name): Probably best large scale RTS ever, makes you wish SupCom was this good and above all, ran this well.
SupCom and TA are both thinkers RTS games, working on a larger scale than most RTS games out at the moment, and I love them for it.

Haven't played Dungeon Siege 2 or Space Siege, so can't comment on those.
