Demon Souls Question

Hey guys and girls!

When you first make a character on Demon Souls, you go through the little tutorial thing. At the end of the first level, you're faced against the mud monster. (I know that's not its real name, but that's what I call the fatty.)

Now, when pitted agained the end levels monster, you're supposed to lose so you can die and go to the underworld.

My question is, can you actually beat it? If so, what happens?


*Note: My boyfriend's gotten pretty damn close to killing it, but then somehow dies. I just stunk and died right away.

It's possible to kill it. If you do then you get something as a reward (I forget what). Then you go onto a giant dragon boss enemy who instantly kills you no matter what.

What if you dodge all of their attacks. OHIK means nothing if they can't hit

Ah, gotcha.

I personally lacked the patience to kill the first boss guy. After one swing I just said "fuck it". Haha.

I beat it with the "soul arrow" magic. Magic in that game is ridiculously cheap...at least in the first run through.
