Demonoid Got Taken Down?

I haven't seen demonoid up today and the pages aren't loading does anyone have any information on this?

Maybe they're undergoing maintenance again? It happens every now and then. You can wait to torrent your whatever for a day or two.

It would have been...if it hadn't already been down then back again several times already in recent memory.

I have acouple people saying that the site is hosted on a euro server and they just passed a law banning stuff like that

It depends on your definition of 'just'. If they 'just' passed a law, saw, this evening then it probably wouldn't work that fast. Also, I'm sure the people there at Demonoid would make sure to make its' users at least slightly aware of this fact.

Again, this has happened before, several times before actually. Just be patient and you'll be rewarded for it.

With that said, if they bring down one of the biggest torrent sites, this means two things.

1. This is big news.
2. People will just move to a different site.

It's probably just down for maintenance though.

I dont torrent anything either...Was just asked by acouple people to figure out if anyone new anymore about its situation

It's hardly the most reliable of sites, what with it going down for months at a time with no official news whatsoever for weeks.

I'm sure it is fine, if it was taken down by legal action there would have been warnings on the front page saying "we're getting sued".

I stopped following the Pirate Bay lawsuit, but I'm surprised to see that it's still there doing its thing and being all piraty and that.
