yet again, i have failed to make it to my morning lessons. i'm in my last year of 6th form, should be heading off to uni next year, and there has been so many occasions where i have decided not to go to lessons PURELY because i didn't want to get wet. today was another one, i just looked outside, decided i didn't fancy it, so stayed home.

so i put 2 questions to you my fellow escapists:
1) does rain have this effect on you? whats the worst thing to happen to you due to rain?
2) if not rain, what does demotivate you in general?

I could buy you an umbrella?

1. No, I just play some sexy music and pretend that I'm a stripper in a porno
2. Parades. I can never get to the other side of the street

I actually qiute like the rain. Now hail, that's a completely different story. I still had to walk from school once when it was raining, hailing (they were the size of peas) and the gale force winds we were having at the time meant they were hitting my face pretty hard, one of the particularly solid hail actually cut my face.

The thing that demotivates me is having a big pile of ironing to do. How I loathe ironing.

Rain is demotivational, but not as bad as we in Britain make it out to be. You shouldn't really waste away that education everyone is paying for you to have though...

What demotivates me? Having to motivate other people

Staying inside on rainy days is my favourite atmosphere :).

I only dislike rain when it goes inside my shoes and makes my sock a bit heavy and well...wet. >.>

I. Like. Rain. I don't understand people and their whining about "bad weather" and how they get depressed by it. There's nothing more cozy than being inside on a rainy day. I don't mind walkin in the rain either.

Things that demotivates me are things that get in the way of my personal schedule. My parents drags me to a party with their friends? Well, guess I'll punch kittens and not do homework for a week.

I used to play football, and i loved playing in the rain and mud, so whenever it does rain, it brings back some great memories.

1: No. I love rain. It's actually cool, the air is clean, it sounds good hitting the roof a hood or an umbrella, it feels good to go out in. The rain makes me feel alive. I have gone jogging in it. It's wonderful to me. The area I live is usually a hot, smoggy, bright valley. It's a nice change of pace. It's like being up in the mountains without the thin air. The only problem is some people are idiots and drive badly in the rain. I've been rear-ended three times in the rain while waiting at traffic lights. Never badly but always inconveniently.

As for 2:

This.

I had a teacher who felt this exact way. I feel the opposite though it doesn't rain all that often where i'm from and when it does I always feel exuberant. I love rain it washes the Earth and makes everything smell fresh and clean.

The only thing that demotivates me this way is exhaustion when i'm tired I don't want to get up.

I live next to a desert. Last I checked, we're in the middle of a drought. I worship rain.

Actually, SoCal's been getting a lot of rain, recently, which is just fine by me. I think the only time I ever stopped liking rain was when I was in Japan, when every day of June and July could and would turn rainy with absolutely no warning, and absolutely no effect on the ungodly temperature. Once I got back into weather with less than 90% humidity, I started liking it again.

As for demotivation in general...well, I can be demotivated, but I don't know if I can attribute it to something specific.

i guess. i mean, i am still doing the work, i don't do it if it's crucial lessons, but for these i can do the work at home, and then get the teacher to check it over later. i don't think i'm wasting THAT much, i'm making sure i don't fail xD

i like rain too, didn't make that clear really. what i don't like, is getting wet. and having to sit for about 4 hours in wet clothes. i have a half hour walk to and from school, so if its raining, i generally get drenched. if i'm inside or trying to sleep, it sounds really relaxing mind.

Ah, that's understandable. I also have about half an hour's walk to get to my bus. Wet clothes are extremely uncomfortable. The jacket I have right now is pretty much water resistant though so I don't really mind anymore.

Fair enough, it's not like everyone hasn't done it, just got the impression that it was a regular hobby of yours :p

Rain doesn't make me lazy... it makes me sleepy. So the worst thing it can do is make me miss an alarm.

As for what demotivates me... catastrophic failure.

I once tried to put a new A/C compressor on my car, spent 3 hours busting my knuckles, then finding out the 'new' one was busted as well. I was so furious and fed up, I just let a mechanic fix it.

So basically, yeah, anytime I get nearly to the finish line, and lose through no fault of my own, I give up in disgust.

I spent my early childhood in coastal Florida. Thunderstorms were basically a weekly thing. I've lived through several hurricanes in my life, including Ivan and Katrina. I've had a tornado touch down on my head one day while I was out to the beach. It was the most frightening moment of my life. But I find rain to be soothing. I sleep deeper when there's rain and thunder. Days without rain feel like there is something missing. I like the feeling of rain on my skin.

My girlfriend does not get it. She loathes rain.

In general, oppressive heat or humidity bothers me.

I like the rain, when I am indoors. I find it soothing. I hate getting wet as well, but I have never missed a day off from school/college/university just because it is raining. I lived 45 minutes away from my high school, and I had to walk it, due to there being no schol bus that would go to my area so I was absolutely soaked by the time I got to class, I lived about an hour away from my 6th form so I would get wet then as well.

It doesn't necessarily demotivate me, but it does make me a bit angry when people whine about an essay they have to do two weeks before it is due in, and then don't even bother starting it until the day before it is due in, and then whine some more when they get a poor mark. I don't really think anything really demotivates me, if there is a set back, I try my hardest to overcome it.
