My dog ran off tonight, no idea where he is. I love that beagle. Linus is the only one who doesn't make fun of me, he's happy to see me when I get home, basically everything I hate about people. Hope nothing bad happened to him. I really hope he hasn't gotten hit by a car, like my other dog. That depressed me to...
Can't sleep.
It's sad, I'm more emotionally invested in my dog than most people I know.

No, I didn't make this up.
I searched for a bit, but he was out by the time I got home. Probably been gone for a while. Just hope he comes back soon.

Dogs usually find their way home. He's an animal so I doubt he'll do anything stupid. Probably just exploring and such. Peeing on many poles. All the best, i hope he comes back soon.

Hope you find him. =(

My beagle wouldn't run off, she likes sleeping too much to risk losing that comfort.

Peanuts [http://images.apple.com/ca/games/articles/2002/07/tivola/images/peanutslinus.gif], anyone?

If not, I retract my assumption and hope you find your dog.

Uhh, what should we say? This may be discussion, but what can we discuss here? What are the odds he'll come back? 74.7%. Bye.

Pets come back. As long as you have exposed him to the outside world a bit (walking him, taking him to parks, etc) he'll get bored and hungry and come back home with a scratch on his nose within three days. That's about it.
Maybe keep some dog food by the front door in hopes of luring him back even faster... but this might prompt the invasion of stray cats.

Your call.

Congratulations man. My dog ran off once but we got him back the next day, somebody picked him up and called the Warden.

Plus side is a night in the kennels has now made my dog completely unwilling to ever run off ever again. Can leave the front door open all we want and the worst he'll do is trot to the doorway and take a look outside.

My dog got out once (as he gets irritable if I don't walk him for a few days) and he just walked himself around the block, peeing on a few trees (every 2nd-3rd one, even when its one drop).

But when my cat got out we had to go to the kennel and pay something like $100 or something (to pay for the cage to look after him, we actually had to "buy" the cage that they kept him in).

Also, my friends dog got let out a few times by one of their neighbours as they were irritated with it, and then they called the council (like... Mayor's office but for Aus). And after the 3rd time they figured out who was doing it and boy did they get in trouble...

At least you're not one of those iditos that walks em leash free and they run all over the road, too many dogs get hit that way

(sry bout long post but...) Once I found a lost dog, returned it, owner's didnt care blah blah. (took me 30mins to find them from where I found him) and then a few weeks later it was out again (bloody useless owners) and when I was walking it back home it just so happened to run onto the road and get hit by a car (as I didn't have a spare leash on me and I didn't want to risk my dog getting hit, I love him too much). I was so p*d at the owners.

He came back in the we hours of the morning.
Now idea how he got out, probably my mom left the front door open when she came home.
