Depressing Ads

Is it just me or are about 60% of all ads nowdays all really depressing ads about people suffering in third world countries or all the whales dying or something, it really isn't productive to a good mood and makes me feel like a spoiled peice of shit. I know we should all do something to help the under privaliged but seriously? One night I was watching TV and this came on:


I mean, come on, this thing is 4 minutes, and yes, I know Fred Hollows was a great man and I respect him a lot but talk about a downer! Do any of you have this problem of TV making you depressed? Share with me your depressing ad moments.

EDIT: I must admit that the Fred Hollows ad is actually quite uplifting and depressing at the same time.

Its called propaganda. We're in a recession so the media reminds us of it 24/7.

After that everything was "War on Terror" this and "War on Terror" that.

Your problem is that you're watching TV. There are like two shows actually worth watching on TV, and they are available on hulu!

All seriousness though, that commercial makes me feel better, cause I know that there are good things happening in the worlds.

Eh, there's that one commercial involving animals being abused or neglected and needing good homes, along with them asking for a small donation to keep their charity running. The song and the pictures of the animals always brings me to choke up.

Then there is that one commercial involving children's research involving bone cancer or any kind of cancer and them asking for small donations. I felt like shit after watching that, considering the fact the kids shown couldn't be any older than twelve years old.

I say to the people behind this: You did your job. Yet you still didn't get any money out of me, so... hmm, how much money did you honestly waste with those commercials that could have been put into said charities to begin with? Just curious is all, because I don't like watching something funny and then get bombarded with sadness if there isn't a tidy sum coming from it.
