so earlier i put up a post talkin about how i watched high school of the dead and i thought it was just meh. was like every other zombie flick ive seen except in anime form. violence in it wasnt even that gory however there was plenty of fan service but that doesnt help it. for some reason normal zombies just dont scare me any more but neither do the runners. you know what zombies do scare the bejesus out of me?

is it weird that those are the only zombies that actually freak me out anymore? or is anyone else in "eyeroller" mode to normal zombies and runners?

The reason for that are games like Dead Rising, where entire hordes of zombies aren't able tu put up much of a fight, but basically only serve a purpose as a humorous distraction (i.e you can kill a bunch of them in a variety of creative ways).

Somehow, popular media made zombies into pussies that can't hurt you.

In my mind, the more there are, the less of a threat they seem to be.

However when there's just one in a house with you, then it's scary as hell.

The real thrill of the zombie movies use to be the pop out moments and the but-they-were-bit-and-we-need-to-kill-them-now scenarios. And it is never the hoard that gets you, it is the one random guy that happens to be by the back door as you're running from the hoard.
