Okay, so I around half a year ago I pretty much scratched the whole idea of becoming a game designer, for many reasons... One of them being the very expensive software needed to get some real good practice, another being the fact that it's a very though market where you dont make it unless you have exceptional skills (So I've heard, atleast) and one being that I simply thought "Game designing... Do I really want to make my living on games? Isnt that like... Slightly too geeky?"
Nontheless!
Just recently while wondering what it should become of me I figured: I could make cover art!
So, my new plan is becomming a cover art designer (I believe the term for it is Graphic Designer?)
and I just wondered if we have any of the people lurking around on the escapist, and if you could tell me abit about how the market is, if it is hard to get established in the industry. I understand that most of them are freelancers?
Should I expect to be able to make a decent income?
What kind of education should I get?
