Destiny's Vita Controls Have Been Optimized for Maximum Comfort

The control layout for Destiny while using the Playstation Vita's Remote Play feature aims to capture the full game experience on the handheld.

By now, people are either excited for Destiny's upcoming release this upcoming Tuesday or sick and tired of hearing about the game (to which I say- shame on you). For those in the first group that happen to own a PlayStation and a Vita, there is some good news if you've been thinking about using your handheld's streaming capabilities to play the game.

Bungie has worked to optimize the game's controls for Vita to make the experience more streamlined and comfortable for users. Different sections of the touch screen can be used for melee attacks, grenade throws, or to summon one's Ghost. Yesterday, Sony released a video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLXYf4bUC80] on their personal YouTube channel a video that showcases the remote play features in action on the Vita.

The official post [http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/05/destiny-remote-play-hands-on/] on the PlayStation blog had this to say: "One of the things we noticed during the week of the Destiny Beta was that a lot of PS4 owners were streaming Destiny to their PS Vitas via Remote Play. In fact, Destiny was the No. 1 title for Remote Play during the entire month of July, racking up the most Remote Play sessions of any PS4 title."

Hopefully, Remote Play will provide a faithful alternative for Destiny players when playing in a room different from where their PlayStation is set up or while on the go.

Almost any ps4 title can be remote played via the playstation vita. Also be nice, I seriously think vita owners get kicked way too much these days. Poor bastards.

Geez, you guys act as if to own a Vita is some point of shame or something.

I, for one, love my Vita to death, and have never once regretted the decision to buy it. As an individual who spends most of his time out of the house thanks to work and school, I probably use my Vita more than any other gaming console that I own.

I own a PS4 and Vita and can attest to the Vita being a viable and awesome remote play device. I've played AC4 off my PS4 in other rooms with no lag, and looking beautiful. Controls are easy as using the dualshock, and comfortable. Love it.

As far as I understand, Remote Play is more like streaming PS4 games to your Vita. Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi and play your PS4 games on your Vita while your actual PS4 is 160 miles away [http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1rngz4/remote_playing_with_my_vita_while_my_ps4_is_160/].

I don't own one, but I was pretty impressed with my friend's Vita. Hopefully it will catch on like the PSP.

I don't like the Vita at all for shooters. I can't imagine anyone finding it comfortable. But good on them for trying, I guess.

It takes some getting used to, I'll grant you. Some relatively cheap accessories that made it work for me are the Trigger Grip and the Enhanced Thumb Grips:
(http://www.amazon.com/Vita-2000-Trigger-Grip-Sony-PSP/dp/B00JYE8L9K/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410104131&sr=8-2&keywords=ps+vita+trigger+grip, http://www.amazon.com/Enhanced-Thumb-Grips-Playstation-Vita-Sony/dp/B007U87E8Q/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-2&keywords=ps+vita+analog+stick+covers)

I played through the campaign (and a significant amount of the multiplayer) in Killzone: Mercenary and Uncharted: Golden Abyss with those, and never had a problem with discomfort! ^_^

Oh, you can play the game from ANOTHER console on an EXISTING CONSOLE. But porting it to PC's is way too hard and time consuming, but making a game system control ANOTHER game system ISN'T? WHAT THE FUCK BUNGIE? I'M SORRY, I GUESS YOU DON'T WANT THE EXTRA MILLIONS FROM A PC RELEASE, DO YOU? Goddammit.
