What comes to mind when you hear this word?
I'm presenting this in a effort to kick start my thoughts, English exam and all.
Or if you want to present ideas, please.
Just, um, do it quick.
Thank you...

will; what your mind can do over what your body can do. what you can achieve by just going for something in a reckless manner.

Motivation. You get motivated, you get determination. An example that I find myself using in every day life is when Im at the gym, doing those last few painful reps, I just think of the positive comments girls have made about my body and BAM! Im determined.

Man, what a coincidence. I started an English Language Arts exam on the same topic today.

Goals, dreams, ideas, motivation, overcoming adversity, etc. Do you need specific examples, or just keywords to get the brainjuice flowing?

Pushing through an obstacle that just loves to push back with extra force and sometimes sharp-pointy things.

Never Back Down, Never Give In.

Quite simply determination can be described in the following quote from a good freind of mine:
"The fight isn't over until you win it"

My absolute first thought was "I will push that guy down the stairs", though thinking about it I always picture overcoming something, doesn't really matter what.

If you're in Canada, and in grade 12, then you are taking this exam, everyone is. Or perhaps an odd stroke of luck.

Yes, all of these post say more or less the same thing, the problem with me is hardships, ironically, are hard to come by. I don't often put myself in harms way, and it's difficult to write a complete paper on just going nuts. Or what I've done when my inhibitions have been lowered.

What I think I will write on is my experiences with rugby, a sport that besides being awesome to the core, is a gory and brutally hard game. For someone who shirks stress and hard work like a pro, I surprised myself somewhat in how I stuck with it, even after tearing my shoulder muscle in a practice. Perhaps it's all the blood I lost.

But thanks people, your suggestions will help me make my monologue/personal essay be much more intense and to the point.
