-Women play a large role in the game, some of them you've known for a long time, others will try to seduce or betray you, depending on your previous actions
...So 'women' are a game mechanic now? : /

You mean they weren't before? :D

All joking aside, this looks like a step in the right direction, but I'll without any judgement with cautious optimism. Admittedly, I have never completed the original due to sucking badly at it, but know it inside-out thanks to my friend who's played it enough times to break it.

I'm still cautiously optimistic on this one, and these new details have done nothing to either elevate or deflate my appraisal. I still think it will fall comfortably between Deus Ex and Invisible War as far as quality goes but will end up being very easy to beat because simply it is a new game, and most games these days are easy to beat.

That being said though, for the follies of modern gaming I think Deus Ex 3 will be a much more immersive experience and will tell a great story but whether it connects intellectually as the first one did is still up in the air at this point.

You just know the body language stuff is gonna be lame.
It'll be either mind-numblingly difficult or obvious to the point of stupidity.
Yeah try to tell if the character grinning ear to ear is happy! Or see if the guy with slanted eyes and red face is angry.
I don't see much good coming from this, but I applaud the attempt at something new.

Anyway, the way (legitimate) people bash it is because of the first game. If you played the first and then the second, a LOT of things had changed: The mono-ammo (all guns used an "energy" kinda thing, just used it in different amounts), the general level / difficulty is way toned down (Though the biotics system (Forget what ti's called at the moment) was still intact, and even improved upon. The skills system was non-existent int he second if I remember rightly. That's what I could think of off the top of my head.
All changes for the better. People just like to bash stuff that's made more accessible, as it violates their nerdiness.

Do you think they will keep this PC exclusive or attempt to make console ports?
I can't decide which I would prefer.
I did first play Deus Ex on PS2, before picking up the original and Invisible War on PC, 2nd hand in a game store for a couple of quid each.

I admit I loved all 3 equally so I would probably play another console port OR PC exclusive.

Hopefully it won't be stupidly obvious like Oblivions attempt.
As if everyone in that gaming world had a choice of happy, bit happy, mad, slightly mad.
