Looks pretty cool, if not quite the innovative, world changing masterpiece we've been led to believe:

Something tells me this game is going to be hugely divisive in the way that Fallout 3 and Dragon Age 2 were.

What do you guys think?

I saw it earlier today and it made my expectations of this game reach a boiling point. August can't come soon enough.

THAT'S how you pronounce "Deus"? I always thought it rhymed with Zeus.
Mah bad.

Ugh, it looks so good. I'm so pumped for it right now. Jeebus.
I love seeing a game that doesn't sacrifice the gameplay for the story.

....Oh...Em....Gravy.

Yeah, they obviously understood what made the first game great. I'm getting VERY VERY tempted to pre-order this....

I know for a fact I'll be dong what I did in the first Deus ex. Sneaking in the back way, Setting up ambushes, and then unleashing murder on anything dumb enough to fall into them. >:D

I missed out on Deus Ex when it came out. Still need to get round to playing it, everyone seems to regard it as gaming's Crown Jewel.

So, cant say if this is dumbed down by comparison. It certainly looks more to have more depth then pretty much anything released in the last 3 years.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was the last game I can remember playing that gave similar in-game choices about how to handle a situation. Funny how the art style is very similar.
Looking forward to trying a demo out anyway!

I don't approve of the blatant bright yellow highlighting of every interactive object in the game. But besides that, it looks totally awesome.

I have to agree on the yellow highlighting; it reminds me of the blue highlighting in Thief 3. I think it was the third one at least.

That said, I do look forward to playing it. I am late to the party for the series. I already have the first one and have been meaning to play it. All the more excuse to do so.

The question is, should I get the second to catch up with the story or just read about what happens?

looks really sweet. But whats with the zooming in of the characters back every time he goes down a ladder?

The multiple paths was the only thing I was concerned about with this. I am 100% completely sold on this game now.

Human Revolution is pretty much a prequel to the first Deus Ex, so I don't think you'd need to really catch up on anything to play it. But you should play it anyway. It wasn't nearly as good as the first game (they dumbed down the gameplay a ton), but it was still fun and the story was pretty good.

It looks really good, i just think the glowing objectives thing might get a bit annoying at points
also, this made me put this game up on my anticipated games for the rest of this year

Seems to be showing a fairly inconsequential part of the game, so I can't really get any kind of good judgement from it. Although it does seem to be continuing the sort of multiple-path level design that I liked about the first Deus Ex.

You can play the first one if you want, it's got the better story out of the first 2, but it can be pretty slow going at the start and the graphics are showing their age a bit. If that does put you off, you can play the 2nd, although the story isn't near as good, there's still some interesting interactions going on, and there's many avenues to explore each section through. I loved them both, regardless of what critics say. Been a while since I played either though.

I'm anticipating this quite a bit, so much in fact that I don't even want to know too much about it because I'm sure it'll blow my socks off in any case, and the less I know = greater effect (same approach I take to movies)

Oh god damn it, another one designed by Brown & Browner inc. ?
The gameplay looks good, but is it really that hard to have an actual color pallet? Not everything needs to look like Call a doody

Well there's me going through the vents every time, when you can vent your way through stopping to hose everyone down and kick the front door in just seems like you've failed.
