Deus Ex:Human Revolution GOTY ... wait, what??

I really need to RAGE about this somewhere.

Deus Ex:Human Revolution won't be released as a new title for another 4 days.
There is no demo for it, so nobody has actually played the game yet.
You with me so far?

Here is one of the purchase options, copied directly from the Steam store:

O.K. Just. What. The. Fuck.
They have not released the game yet, and there is no demo (that I know of) so NOBODY has even played it yet.
So how is there a Game Of The Year Edition?????

Now, maybe I was wrapped up in a strategy game or an RPG at the time this changed - but don't games actually have to be well-received, and get high marks from so-called game critics, before anyone can call a game "Game of the Year"??

Look, I don't know about you guys. But that just torqued me off. I've been secretly hoping that this will be a great game. Whoops, I lied, its not really a secret because I've said that I want it to be a great game. But this kind of tom foolery makes me mad. I'm not going to use the word 'Boycott' because I don't think that is merited yet. But I am going over to the DE:HR website to give the devs a piece of my mind.

You don't understand how the game industry works. Any AAA title instantly gets 9/10 to 10/10 reviews and GOTY status.

Dragon Age 2 probably has a GOTY edition for fucks sake.

I think that's debatable. I mean Square Enix technically didn't release a demo but plenty of people have already played a short amount of the game.

Even if you hate IW, it's still free.

Still, I own both of them anyway. And I'm getting HR on consoles. Never finished the original, for some reason. Should fix that soon. I'm a weirdo who liked IW better.
