simply a thread to discuss the various ending of the two

Helios merger- Kinda went to see it as more positively overtime, mainly because Helios seem to oppose merging with Bob Page (who is kind of an asshole), but clearly want to merge with the more altruist JC Denton. While a lot think that mean that Helios destroy JC mind, the fact he's picky with who he merges with hint that it make some difference.

Illuminati ending (DXI) - I think Morgan Everett is "honest" is that the Illuminati will bring back the world to some level of prosperity however, Lucius Debeer should always be a reminder how much a**hole they can be. When they can be ruthless they can be.

Templar ending - Seriously? that like the blood mage that decide to side with templar in Dragon age II (yea kinda just notice now they have the same name)

Omar Ending - Its a bit better than the templar, if only because humanity wasn't send back to the middle age. Omar are a rather unsympathic faction. Their mods are overprice, they are creepy (I kinda get what they were aiming at, but I think to some degree the extreme transhumanism should be appealing to some degree, although this ending is suppose to also be the one where you kill everyone else, which I admit doesn't require you to like the omar)

Digital Democracy ending - Ok I have to admit that ending is really creepy in a lot of way, I think perhaps we should thing humanity getting the same mindset as the geth in mass effect who have that collective mindset, which tell us that it doesn't mind that hive mind will either be a force or good or evil.

You forgot the Digital Dark Age ending for Deus Ex. Y'know, blowing Area 51 sky-high, killing Bob Page in the process AND robbing the Illuminati of their ability to influence world events (to the same extent)

I never trusted Helios. I would have gone to the ends of the earth for Daedalus, but Helios is not he. Therefore any plan that embraces Helios I have always rejected.

By the end of DX2 I hated every faction so much (and Tracer Tong, one of my guiding lights in DX1 was now JC's whipping-boy) that when I was presented with "Screw them all, lets blow the place sky high" I was on board before he finished the sentence.

That has a lot to do with the quality of Invisible War's script and characterisation though, rather than ideology.
