Deus Ex Invisable war crashes need help

I bought the deus ex pack when it was on sale last week on steam and IW is having some major issues.

I can;t load anything but the first level and sometimes the second part of the tarsus facility. If i crtl alt del out and close the program sometimes the game will relaunch 30 seconds later and load but most of the time it won't does anyone know how to fix this? My comp is an HP dv7 with an i7 and an ati 5650 with 1 gb gddr3

Serious and helpful answer (possibly): The game seems to have trouble handling multiple cores. If you got the game on Steam, I suggest checking out this [http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1325773] thread on the steam forums.
