I got Deus Ex yesterday and Ive started doing training at the moment, so far its really good, though its a bit fiddly with crouching but bar that its brilliant.

For people out there what kind of style were you best at?

quick saving and reloading. lol. I just have a tendency to remake the same mistakes. Generally I snuck around and knocked or killed just about all the enemies in every mission.

You have two options with the crouching, one is to hold down the button to crouch, the other is to toggle crouching on and off with pressing the buttons. Could that be your problem with the crouching?

I mostly did the stealth thing, using a silenced pistol and a lot of hacking/lockpicking. I tried to do a no-kill playthrough but that got old fast.

Once you get the Dragon Tooth the game becomes easymode regardless of your melee skill.

Also pair it up with regeneration and speed and there you go.

So that's what I did.

I always go for rifle skill. At master level, the sniper rifle is automatically 100% accurate. No focusing required. A head shot will also kill any standard enemy, but be sure to aim for the neck or they will die screaming. Aside from that, it's pretty vital to make sure that you always have at least level two computer skill, which allows you to hack anything. The only thing that Experienced lets you do with computers is control security systems and, as far as I can tell, master level doesn't really add anything. It's also a wise idea to keep a GEP gun handy, as it will kill anything that the sniper rifle won't, even without any heavy weapons training. Sure it take eight inventory spots, but you'll be glad you have it next time you have a security bot bearing down on you.

Don't pick swimming because it's fairly useless...

I actually do pick swimming. I don't want to have rebreathers taking up place in my inventory and there are some parts where you can explore or be stealthy with swimming and it is just easier with a bit of swimming skill...

Does anyone actually go for the heavy weapons... I mean, at all?! Grenades and a sniper rifle deal with virtually every obstacle in the game.

Playing on easy mode because I feel it (usually play on realistic but just want to play the game more relaxed especially to prepare for Deus Ex 3 coming out) like it but the rocket launcher isuseful even without putting any skill points in. Even with no skill points I find them easier to use than Lams. Rockets are useful for opening up doors to save lockpicks and multitools for other things. Also, since often you can be pretty stationary and far away, they are useful for destroying some bots as well. Also, I seem to have much more rockets than lams. Also, wrockets can be useful for taking out a bunch of enemies together in a room...

Probably different on the harder difficulties since there is less ammo I think i remember. So, on hard or realistic you may have less rockets available so not as worth while to take up all the space with the launcher.

I never got tired of using the stun prod on people from behind and getting that instant knockdown.

I usually do the stealth/sniper thing, eventually scoping the silenced pistol. It's so satisfying getting that head shot and seeing the enemy immediately drop down to lying horizontal on the ground.

Oh and the swords are a lot of fun to use too.
