Interesting, though I suppose I can see the points in both directions.
Truthfully it can be argued that a good ending means more if there is a bad ending to be avoided. However in today's market it seems like very few things stay under wraps, everyone learns about the good or "best" endings early on, and then head directly for those, complaining if there are obtuse hoops where it was intended to take multiple playthroughs to figure out how to do things "Right".
Simply going with one ending is fine if all of the others were variations on bad endings.
I do however think that the best way to do things is to create multiple good endings, with the best one largely being a matter of point of view.
