It seems to me that many game developers are starting to rush their games just to get a better turnout in the sales, especially at Christmas time (and yes I know Christmas is months away). But even if you do rush your game to be out at Christmas it will be overlooked by many other games.

My point is that game developers should take that extra time to perfect the gameplay and make sure that you arn't shipping a buggy unfinished game. Just take your time in making the game and make sure the game is great not just medeocher. (I don't know how to spell it so sorry spelling fanatics)Plus if you relese your game about a month or even just a couple weeks after Christmas then you could have a better turnout in sales rather than getting overlooked by onother Call of Duty.

Another thing that these developers need to look at is the relese date, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Bioshock 2 are comming out a day away from each other, those are two of the most anticipaed games this year yet many gamers will have to decide what their $60 are going to be spent on. This may make it so that both games will sell less since they'll each get about 50% of gamers to buy their game.

Just spread the releses out more and you can make more mmoney, and please developers, make sure your game is finished before shipping it.

Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes and just stay on topic

I agree in most cases, but don't forget Publisher demands play a huge variable in this equation (Per se'.) Case in point: Far Cry 2. The developers had to rush to meet Publisher demands. Not that they were slacking off, they just simply didn't have enough time.

Better question, why are there almost no middle of summer releases, but you get like after Christmas releases? Isn't that the time when either you are home trying to avoid the heat and bored out of your mind, or on a trip? Both could mean potential sales, for the console and portable gamers.

Ya but as long as there are still good developers out there making great games I'm happy because I never buy those crap games anyway.

I have three words of the OP's proposed scenario (which I agree with, mind you) gone wrong: Duke Nukem Forever.

Go make a 3D model, then come back and say people are lazy.

They aren't being lazy, they're suffering from their CEO's grasp of capitalism.
