I forsee them ruining yet another franchise. It might start off okay, but can only end badly unless they make some major changes. Just hoping this movie turns out more like movie DMC 1 than movie RE 5.

Should they really give to a guy that has no good movies under his belt? Or should I say any movies at all.

As long as at is the Dante from 3 or 4 I think it could become a good movie...But only time will tell.

For this movie you need 3% story and 97% action.
So I hope we won't get Dragonball: Evolution.

I don't care, this movie can not turn out worse than the so called "Reboot" of Devil May Cry, a series which DID NOT NEED A FUCKING REBOOT!

I bet its gonna have the same general plot and progression as the manga, all the games and the tv series. Nothing really new, just in movie format ><

this is going to be a DISASTER! i don't mean to sound pessemistic but they raped the hell out of REsident Evil, turning a silly but stable horror story into some...weird...action..thingy. I'm not even sure what it is anymore. Just what the hell are they going to do to dante!?
DMC is already a weird action thingy. The good thing about this is that they can't possibly make it wrong except if they make it into a musical.

No offense but as long as it doesn't go all 'girl power' like resident evil did (although it would be more forgivable in this franchise) and characters do resemble their game counterparts. I want this to be good but considering the director has Kane and Lynch and a lack of action movies on his resume that sounds more like a forlorn hope.

Actually that would be interesting, a devil may cry musical, how often do you see heavy metal musicals about killing demons and acting like a douche. To say the least it would be unique which is more than most Devil May Cry things after the first game can boast.

My guess is this either turns out so unfaithful that it's a name-only adaptation, or they try too hard to keep with the style and make it overly corny. I honestly don't think it'll come out any other way.

But hey, there's that tiny, tiny chance it'll surprise me.
Really? Come now. With Devil May Cry, there is no such thing.

Yeah, it's going to be horrible.

For me, the action in DMC3 was where it was at its best, silliest and most fun; the story was interesting and it covered a hell of a lot of the mythology behind the game.

This adaptation will likely be a pretty generic "look at our special effects" type movie with little connection to the game other than loosely dropping in a few characters and expecting us to be impressed with the bare minimum.

I honestly didn't like any of the RE movies; they were cheap, dull and predictable. The plot in all of them (if you can call what they had a "plot") was nothing new and was more obviously just a method to part fans from their cash without actually putting any effort into the actual production.

They might as well have Uwe Bol or directing the DMC flick; it's the kind of quality I expect from them. I could be wrong, and I really hope I am, Honestly, I hope this doesn't suck as much as I expect it will but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'll be expecting a generic script, bad acting, cheap effects and no real connection to the subject matter, anything better than that is passable, but, as a DMC fan, I'm pretty much expecting this to get on my nerves as much as the Transformers movies annoyed its fans.

Let's seriously hope I'm wrong.

Please do not mention ewe bol. You will give them ideas. I want this movie to have good action and by that I want fast paced battles with many demons at once and maybe one on-level rival (the vergil). Minimum slow motion. The story should work just enough so that it isn't total waste yet doesn't harm the action.

To sum it up: I just want this to be good, it that too much to ask?

I think it'll be good. They changed a lot with the Resident Evil movies, but how much could they possibly change for this? They made Resident Evil action-y, which isn't neccesarily what it's about, then that can only work for this. It'll be a bit hard to make it entirely unfaithful though, because at least it'll be Dante kicking ass, not some chraacter they made up. Over the top action is what this needs.

hell, this should be easy to do. it doesn't need to be anything super special, just lots of action, die-hard style and it'll be good.
Don't forget cheesy bad-ass one liners every now and then.
