Fans of the series probably know about the HD collection of DMC, the three PS2 games are all included and the box proudly claims that bonus features have been added. I've been messing around with all three of the games a bit and have found the following bonuses:
1 - Turbo mode in DMC3 is actually available in Europe.
2 - There are a collection of still images most of them taken from the unlockable ones you'd get for doing stupid things like getting all S ranks on DMD.
3 - The weird controls in DMC1 have been fixed.
That's it for bonuses. The HD is gameplay-only as well, which really shows in the first game where all the menus look horrible. If you already own the first three there's nothing of interest here unless your PS2 is taking up space and you only ever use it for those three games. If you don't own a game or you're new to the series completely then this is a great deal, £25 for two excellent games and a decent one.
The games themselves... DMC 1 is starting to show its age sadly but it's still very fun. It doesn't have the variety of bosses the later games had but the bosses it does have are fun and a decent challenge to fight. You have two weapons, Alastor and Ifrit, which are complete opposites. Alastor is a fast weapon that gives a lot of maneuverability, Ifrit is a slow high-power weapon. It's basic but functional and a hell of a lot better than...
DMC 2. Easily the worst of the three mentioned. Not a terrible game but it's a below-average game sandwiched between two of the best action games out there. While it has a wider variety of bosses some of the fights just aren't much fun and there are no melee weapons other than your standard sword. Enemy variety is a little better as well however some of them are way too generic for a DMC game and the dodgy combat system doesn't do it any favours. If this was your introduction to the series then trust me, the other games are far superior in just about every way. Which leads us to...
DMC 3. By far the most popular and for good reason. All the lessons they learnt from DMC 2 are put to use; the weapons are far more varied, there are dozens of enemy types and the convenience features like instant weapon switching is brought back. Some limitations to that though, you can only have two weapons at a time. Kind of sucks, I'd have preferred to be able to mess around with whatever weapons I'm in the mood for without backtracking to find a shop but eh it's still awesome.
For the people who're on the fence about the series there's a very good Let's Play of all three of the games included in the collection here:

2 [http://lparchive.org/Devil-May-Cry-2/]
3 [http://lparchive.org/Devil-May-Cry-3/]
And also DMC 4 is very cheap, currently £7 used and £14 new on amazon.co.uk and every bit as good as 3, even if it does get a little bit backtracky at times.
So use this thread to discuss the series, the HD port, individual games, whine about how many times Cerberus (4 here) and/or Phantom (about 12, god I'm out of practice at DMC 1) have killed you etc etc.
