Devil May Cry Update!

It sounds like a GREAT GAME! But a terrible Devil May Cry game.

there, shared my opinion, this'll be the last time I talk about this crap DmC controversy.

For christ sakes does everyone just slide over and not read? Okay, here's the gist of what I've figured from countless interviews and gameplay.

1 - Capcom went to Ninja Theory for; not a reboot, not a remake; but a re-imagining of the franchise. They both have specifically said the story and gameplay are both non-canon and have no intentions of tying it into the original plot.

2 - Gameplay - See 1.

I'm well aware of that fact, but for Dawkin's sake I don't believe alot of fans would welcome such a change in gameplay.
I could care less about the look and I like the story idea, but the concept of playing as Little Nicky mixed with Neo disturbs me ever so.

Its like if Bayonetta and Dantes Inferno had an ugly baby and handed it to Ninja Theory

It's not much of a change in gameplay, though. It's just more focused on aerial combat; and who's to say that's necessarily a bad thing? Sounds friggin' awesome to me. The Devil Trigger is actually useful here, when before all it did was increase damage. Besides, he doesn't actually look that bad. If the game wasn't called Devil May Cry, and the character didn't call himself Dante, the outcry wouldn't be nearly as bad, and that's always what is going to baffle me.

If it didn't have the DMC brand it'll just be a B list hack and slash from Ninja Theory that nobody cares about after a while. Devil Trigger was always gimmicky it was mainly used to beat down bosses and sponge some damage. If you know DMC bosses most if any aren't gonna be able to be knocked in the air from that ground pound yet alone you'll be able to stay in the air long enough to do anything. Overall this was a dumb move from Capcom all they needed to do was give DMC a break not outsource it to a team that's hit or miss when it comes to the fans and they're not known for good combat.

On the other hand if it was Team Ninja handling DmC you'll know they'll at lease be able to handle the action part to the part to please the fans. Besides that you'll might have Trish, Lady and maybe some other female char with some jiggle. Yet those two had some jiggle in DMC4 so you can't rag on them about that. It's just not the brand name its the team handling a game that can determine if the fans are gonna like it or not.

The only thing I disagree on was that Ninja Theory makes bad stories.

Kai is the only heroine in a video game I actually gave a damn about. More so than Aeris, or any other tragic heroine. Ninja Theory has this weird way of making a person care about the characters, so hopefully they'll do that here too.

So it's a Devil May Cry game without the Rebellion sword (or the Force Edge, as far as I can tell. That scythe can't even be the Sparda, it's the wrong colour), a style ranking system and Dante. I knew I wasn't going to buy it from the information already available, but they are honestly just bending it over now.

It's almost as if Ninja Theory's chief designer is a narcissistic troll that re-designed Dante to look like him. Oh wait.

I'd prefer to accept the fact that devil may cry 2 was a earth shattering innovative gaming experience than believe this new garbage even exists.
Ninja theory should be ashamed of themselves, they've effectively taken one of the most badass icons in gaming and made him into Edward Cullen (I'm still seething over the new look).

Half angel and half demon?
If I knew how it'd be some kind of super mega ultra giga omega alpha beta king of the hill seismic enormous gamma godly over bearing angry stab you in the neck times infinity face palm... which is also endorsed by nike.

That wasn't the issue with DMC. The reason why #4 caught so much flack was due to the fact that the second half of the game was basically replaying the first half in reverse order with Dante, but no complaints about the gameplay or the story but just the layout.

This one is just taking what alot of people loved about the gameplay in DMC and removing it.
Secondly I already intend to buy the upcoming DMC HD collection instead of this and wait for yahtzee to tear a bigger hole in this than he did with DMC 4
