Sort of on subject, has anyone read this book and can they tell me whether or not they disregard the craziness of book three with all it's ancient cults and mystical shadow monsters? With the recent release of Dexter By Design in hardback

*sigh* same here.mydogisblue said:Well, you're not alone.galletea said:Is it wrong that the idea of a "sociopath simulator" intrigues me?
I'm getting it soon, so I'll give you the lowdown. I actually liked the idea of the Dark Passenger possibly being real, but remember that this is only Dexter's way of explaining it. He's not really one to be trusted with the truth...darkstone said:Sort of on subject, has anyone read this book and can they tell me whether or not they disregard the craziness of book three with all it's ancient cults and mystical shadow monsters? With the recent release of Dexter By Design in hardback
Well, yes and no.Indigo_Dingo said:I think its time we all accepted that the iPhone is indeed an actual viable and respectable videogame platform.
Reminds me of the look of Blood Money

Sure, it plays games, but from the looks of things, go to location A, talk to NPC B, find evidence C on police database, this just strikes me as Yet Another Game.
Considering that the iPhone is a platform that offers internet, both wifi and 3G, geolocation, camera, AV playback and recording, and instant messaging, I'd rather something a bit more innovative and involved.
I must again call upon this topic:

I started reading it today and I'm already 35 pages in without stopping. While Moloch is mentioned, you won't notice it as dearly depressed Dexter has to cope with the new Doakes and the new Rita. Brilliant so far.darkstone said:Sort of on subject, has anyone read this book and can they tell me whether or not they disregard the craziness of book three with all it's ancient cults and mystical shadow monsters? With the recent release of Dexter By Design in hardback
i didn't mind the supernatural stuff in book 3, it gave it an interesting twist to it really. most of the ppl i find that don't like it watched the series and then read the books. they don't really explain his dark paseenger nor do they really call it that in the series, in the book they actually say it's something that takes over and he takes a backseat to it, so it's hinted at a lot in the books up to the third oneThe_root_of_all_evil said:I started reading it today and I'm already 35 pages in without stopping. book of course, tho most ppl read the books after watching the series. i did too but i didn't think the third book was all that bad, had some odd elements to it but wasn't bad. a lot of what was in it was kinda hinted at in the other 2 booksTsunamiWombat said:So was Dexter a book or a series first...?

Just finished it. Freaking fantastic. The Dark Passenger is back to the background and you really will feel your heart in your mouth at times. Can't recommend it highly enough.cleverlymadeup said:yeah i think i'll have to order it from the uk, worse comes to worse i'll have it shipped to a friend's and they can send it to meThe_root_of_all_evil said:Fourth book is well worth getting though.
