We're now three episodes into the new season of Dexter, and I think it's a good time to share our thoughts on the new storylines. Also, I'm bored and can't sleep... 
So, what do you guys think about the new season?
The Tooth Fairy in tonight's episode was hilarious. I loved the interaction between him and Dexter, aka Dan (as in Dan the Dentist? Ooooh, easter egg!). "Could you get me the latest Teen Ass, Nipple Parade and Spanked?". Priceless. And could a "regular" kill finally have an actual impact on Dexter's life? Dropping his blood slides could lead him to throwing them away to avoid becoming like the old man who spent his days staring at the teeth he pulled from his victims.
Now them people are scary. Scary because of their sickfuck ritual, of course, but also scary for the rest of the season's quality, because they're a bit, well, bland. Especially Travis. Colin Hanks' performance really pales in comparison to John Lithgow's or even Jonny Lee Miller's. Of course, the fact that we haven't really seen him kill those people doesn't help his credibility. That choice from the writers baffles me. We kind of saw him hit Nathan in the face with that big rock, but that's not quite enough.
And Gellar bugs me even more. He's hands-off to the point where it's suspicious. What if those theories about him being Travis' split personality are actually true? How lame is that idea, especially if viewers guessed it so fast? On the other hand, the writers have always come up with pretty good plot twists in the past, so they probably expected us to suspect this so early.
Anyway, it looks like Dexter's going to get interested in the main bad guys in next week's episode if the preview is to be believed, so maybe we'll get answers soon.

Deb as lieutenant seemed weird at first, but it kind of works. Her shaking off nosy Laguerta was great, and her threats to Mike after he laughed at her was completely awesome. Looks like Lieutenant Morgan is going to be all right.
I didn't think I could hate Quinn more than in previous seasons, but this is it. He's awful. Two days after being turned down and he goes to fuck some *****? Yeah, that's very mature. I hope Mike's arrival as detective means Quinn is going to say buh-bye. Nobody's going to miss him. I wish Angel had punched him out.
And finally, Brother Sam looks like he's there to stay. Can't complain about that. I had my doubts about casting a rapper, but Mos really shines in this role. He didn't have much screen time last night, but his performance was breathtaking last week.
