Who's looking forward to it? And what would you like to see in the new series?

I'm hoping that it will be a return to form. Maybe I'm in the minortiy, but I think seasons 3 and 4 were not as good as the first 2. I suppose I disliked the "partners" (not the characters or actors, it just seemed a bit off for Dexter).

I didn't like the direction that the books took either, so perhaps I'm just unpleasable.

I just watched season 1-3 in the last 3 days (summer break) I am loving it so far1 can't belive it took me so long to see it. I am def looking forward to the a new season! Off to watch season 4 nw =)

I thought season 3 was good but season 4 was a definite downturn and after the ending of season 4 (I'd like to keep this spoiler free for both of the Dexter fans who haven't seen it yet) I'd kind of prefer if the show ended. One on hand I want more Dexter, but on the other hand I'd rather not watch Dexter that sucks. I don't really see how the show can continue well at this point.

We have yet to see season 4 in the UK (it begins on the 20th), so I don't know enough to expect anything from series 5

I don't know how I feel about another season. I'll give it a chance before I pass judgment.

I think season 3 was a drop. But I think season 4 is as good if not better than the second. John Lithgow was incredible and The ending of the season really opens up massive amounts of possibilities for the fith. One of the smartest seasons I've seen in any series. And not affraid to piss off the fanbase to advance the plot. That's always a good thing.

Lithgow did a great job and the ending was well done. As I said, I'm not a fan of him partnering up. It seems to introduce a massive amount of stupid to the series. Sitting through some of the stupid mistakes Dexter made during those seasons was worse for me than watching The Room.

I'm very much looking forward to it. Loved all of the first 4 seasons looking forward to seeing how they cope with the events of the finale of Season 4.

Yeah this thread is about Series 5, which begins in a little over a month.

After the spectacular fourth season, I'm pretty excited for the fifth, hoping it'll turn the series back to its darkly playful roots rather than all this love-thy-family wishy-washy we've endured so far.
