EDIT:...Wait. No offline mode? Ok, forget I said anything, I'll be interested never.

Looks Cool. Pity they're still cowtowing to the Chinese government. Until that's fixed, I'm inclined to stay away from all their products...
Agreed. They want to be bitches that suck the dick of bigger bitches. Go right ahead. I stopped buying from Activision years ago. The only exception was Transformers Devastation, and that was more for Platinum than anything else.

Yup, they're dead to me until they address the actual problem. Fuck their craven behavior

They made this game for you as an apology to Diablo Immortal and you spit in their faces.

Ungrateful.
The fact that you expected any other reaction astounds me greatly. Seriously dude, you gotta be living under a rock to have thought a thread praising Blizzard was gonna go down any way other than pork pie at Passover.

I have been alone in what I like in this website for years now. I once made Blizzard related posts in this site before the Diablo Immortal fallout. Barely any traction and enthusiasm and often just saying how much Blizzard sucks.
What does that have to do with anything that I've said? Nothing. I'm not impressed with the ball and chain that Diablo 4 comes with and Blizzard's attitude recently has left me wanting. If you don't want to hear that, well, I don't know what to say.
You want me to address what you actually say? Fine.

Your not a corporate Bootlicker for just playing a game.

Blizzard's Buisness with China should not affect your playing of a game. Your not gonna get censored by China right now for playing a game.

When the hell are you not without internet that you absolutely need to play Diablo 4 Offline by yourself? You completely miss the point that games like Diablo and Path of Exile thrive on being Online Co-Op games. And the online is the allow player trading. Do you only play games solo at all times?
Sam, if you want you play Diablo 4, by all means do it. Me personally, I have no interests, but I won't think less of you for it. With that said, I follow my own set of standards, not yours, nor people who constantly defends a coropartions bull crap. As for errttheking, if he enjoys preferring playing offline, it's his decision and nothing wrong with it. You can't be online all the time. Hell, I prefer solo/single-player unless I'm co-op locally with someone. That's life dude; people are different. Get over it. You lose nothing when some of us refuse to buy the game.

Did you forget how horrible Blizzard's servers were on D3's launch? The lag and disconnects that had absolutely nothing to do with any individual player's Internet connection? And then keep in mind that once Blizzard decide to take down those servers, Diablo 4 will be completely unplayable.

1. Blizzard hasn't repeated that level of server issues that Diablo 3 had and even then those issues will eventually get fixed. Diablo 3 hasn't had Error 47 in awhile.

2. Diablo 2's servers are still up and running. Classic WOW has now been brought back to life. Diablo 4 ain't going away anytime soon.

Yeah sorry, it's a case of what companies I feel comfortable giving money to. Blizzard is officially off of that list. I enjoyed Hearthstone and Overwatch when they first came out, but that good will is now gone.

Sometimes my internet gives out, sometimes it just doesn't work that well. But you know what? I like having the option. And frankly the presence of online always just screams "live service" to me, and all the bullshit trappings that'll fall into. Got better things to do with my time and money than pick up a crack habit, particularly one being peddled by Activision-Blizzard. I enjoyed Overwatch at the time, but dear got did the slow lootbox grind suck a lot of the joy out of it. Now more of that? Yeah, no thanks.

Maybe if Blizzard hadn't pulled that little oopsie-daisy a few weeks back this would've been a nice apology. Instead it smacks of desperation after the China bootlicking fall-out.
It's not like Diablo IV's not going to be trying to make as much money from as many people as possible anyway, because that's how Blizzard operates now. The kind of thinking which made Diablo III the way it was at launch haven't gone away in the seven years since. Diablo IV will almost certainly be an always online money pit because that's what Blizzard makes now.

I'm so glad to fall outside of any of these companies and franchises that have shown their true, rotten colours this generation. I never cared about Blizzard or anything they've made, I don't care about online multiplayers, so yeah, I've been lucky.

What on Earth are you talking about? The game must have been in development for at least two years. They didn't just decide to make one as an apology, they made a calculated decision not to reveal that they've been working on it. Why the fuck should any fan thank them for that? By the way, the video game industry is the only one that does that crap. You never see people in the movie industry trying to hide what they've been working on for years. Nobody needs that shit.

Not a fan of blizzard at all, never touched D3 and didn't care about overwatch or starcraft and so on.

So yeah, I'm totally unbiased when I say I think this game looks great lol. I love the gritty and dark design. D3 looked too much like WoW with all the bright colors and whatnot. This game looks to be going back to its gothic roots and that's about the only time I ever had any interest in anything blizzard made.

Also, I must admit I am a sucker for redemption arcs, and they have a ton to redeem themselves for. Here's praying they don't find a way to screw this up too.

(also I find it HILARIOUS that one of the classes turns into a bear when we have the Winnie the Pooh situation right now XD)

The Hong Kong/China stuff obviously cast an ominous shadow over Blizzcon this weekend, but aside from that I thought it was a pretty good event. Diablo 4 looks great so far.

Day 1 buy for me

The Blizzard/HK stuff is blown out of proportion.

Blizzard have every right to ban the player and curate what is said on their private streams.

Blizzard isn't causing the protest in hong kong. Gamers are idiots.

It has nothing to do with free speech/democracy.

Take it one step further and throw out all the stuff in your house that comes from China.

Gamers are idiots.

There are a lot of legitimate arguments for every human on this planet being an idiot in some way or form...but not blindly giving their money away to a greedy immoral international corporation who doesn't give a shit about them, is most certainly not one of them.

This sentiment would make sense if I threw out the Polar Seltzer in my fridge because they had a contest which they denied the winner's prize because he or she once tweeted something in support of Hong Kong.

We're not angry at the products that China produces. China going back on its word for autonomy in Hong Kong governing itself? Yes. But that is legislators. And if the companies that make these products back it, yeah, I'd probably wouldn't buy it again. Not consuming a product I bought is wasteful and does not help anything... in fact, that would cause more of a mess if you think about it.

However, Blizzard has bent over backwards to defend a potential income source while lying to our faces. Note, I would have actually been more ok with the move (still wouldn't given them any money for many other reasons) if they didn't cower and lie to everyone's faces.

But you know, let's get into more of those reasons.

I do not buy any online-only games any more. I do not play online with almost anyone any more. My enjoyment of a game is strictly local to me, myself, and I. I do not see the need to be constricted by the fact that you or others might want to play online so my enjoyment has to be linked to how others like a game.

But beyond that. I haven't liked how Blizzard has handled its E-sports leagues [https://www.espn.com/esports/story/_/id/25529551/blizzard-cuts-heroes-storm-esports-including-collegiate-heroes-dorm], cutting 8% of its workforce [https://esportsobserver.com/activision-blizzard-q4-layoffs/] despite record revenue, and while having positive steps with correcting Overwatch's toxicity, I hate the monetization of it.

Glad you found something to like here. Others didn't. People aren't idiots if they disagree with you, just as people aren't idiots because they agree with you. 7.7 billion people in the world. At least twenty times that in perception.

Why not the membrane that connects our fingers?
