So it looks like this is happening to literally everyone. Some can't even fully log in. Some can't make it past the character create screen. No one can get inside. Blizzards own forums shutdown 15 after launch. So is anyone surprised? Not I. I've witnessed many Blizzard launches.

I predict that there will be massive rage over this too. What REALLY pisses me off, tho, is that I literally CANNOT play a game that I paid for on launch day. I don't give a flying hoot about multiplayer. No. I'm talking about how I can't even play single player because I'm FORCED to log into a server that is now being overloaded when I could have been having a great time playing over the lan with my two brothers who also have the game. Nope.

The icing on the cake has to be that I will, most likely, be the only person to even bring this up and its not like anyone is gonna NOT buy Diablo 3 because of this. Amazon.com has already said that Diablo 3 is the most preordered game of time, or whatever.

Don't get me wrong. I love Blizzard and I love their games but it REALLY pushes my buttons that they can do this sort of thing and just have zero repercussions because of it. Y'know, when Diablo 2 came out we all chipped in our money to buy two copies of the game. Me, my two brothers and two best friends were then playing the game all night long. I guess those days are over...

Don't worry it was the same in Europe as well. I haven't personally got it, but my mates were trying to get in for nearly an hour and a half before they managed to play, with a variety of error messages. Also here's a gif that sums up what's happening at the moment

This was to be expected by any person with a brain.
Releases as massive as this will get people rushing in.

Blizzard would have 2 options.
a) invest in a large log-in server that can accommodate the rush. But then let it be useless for the rest of the time when log-in turns back to normal levels.
b)Hope the player base has some patience and is willing to wait a few hours until the rush settles.

Both are very unlikely, but the second one doesn't involve wasting money.

Trying to log in during release is like driving home at rush-hour and expecting no traffic.
