ERMAHGERD, ER ERS GIN TER RERN STER WERS!

Because it's not like LucasArts already had tripe like this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Force_Unleashed_II], this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinect_Star_Wars], and this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Clone_Wars_%E2%80%93_Republic_Heroes] hanging over their heads, and it's not like they were the reason KotOR II ended up being rushed, buggy, and unfinished upon release, and it's not like they were the reason Battlefront, Dark Forces/Jedi Knight, and Republic Commando got dropped off the face of the planet. Nope, EA is going to be the death-knell for the Star Wars video games.

Can we wait until news of the actual video games surfaces before writing them off, at the very damn least.

First Reaction: YES! HERE WE GO! BATTLEFRONT 3!

After Reading: Wait.. wait wait wait... *backs up* "DICE LA already has some staff on board, mainly EA talent with Medal of Honor credits".

*Commits Suicide*

But...but...then who are we supposed to hate mindlessly in a knee-jerk reaction?

Seriously, though, I have not had any problems with EA games that I've played, so I'm definitely taking a "wait and see" approach. EA games aren't always the most original, but they are at least playable and relatively stable, in a field of Bethesda and Obsidian.

Now, if we could combine Bethesda/Obsidian's writing with EA's decent QA, we might be on to something.

Battlefront 3 then?
Probably. DICE are the developers of the Battlefield franchise, and Battlefront is basically Battlefield in the Star Wars universe.

Let's hope that they won't ruin it. The idea of map DLC and micro-transactions makes me cringe. I'm guessing that it'll have a poor excuse for a single-player campaign, but that's not what Battlefront is about anyway.

Oh, I can see how the game will work already...

Multiplayer: Pay 400 MSP to unlock Proton Torpedoes.

Singleplayer: Press X drop a tactical nuke on the enemy. Tap 'Y' repeatedly to win theQTE knife fight with a Jedi that you'll be having at least once every level.
Pfft, We need some facts straightened here. Clearly that multiplayer setup would be completely inaccurate. Microsoft's ditching the MSP, after all :p Translate that into a proper $ value, and you could be spot on.

I'm cautiously optimistic. There is a great chance for EA to attempt to cash cow this, and if it happens, well It happens. For now, I'm relegating this to the "Await future announcement" bin, preferably for gameplay trailers. Until then, All we can do is speculate and, being the internet, rage out a bit.

And if I'm QTE'ing a Jedi, I'd want my only options to react to what expression I have on my face as I am sliced apart.
