Did they just make an offer against the game?

Ok, I never planned on buying the game, but the recent Game Stop commercials for the upcoming Medal of Honor game have raised my eyebrow.

It was my understanding that as you played through multiplayer, you would level up in order to reach Tier 1. The recent commercial touts that a pre-order from GameStop would secure that you have acces to Tier 1 as soon as you loaded up the game.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the assumption that part of the reason to play multiplayer online was to reach that level over time. Is this offer going against the spirit of the game?

Also, do people really care that much about one upping other gamers that they take a code to eliminate hard work and dedication?

Let's see. EA is publishing Medal of Honor. EA has really pissed off Gamestop lately with Project Ten Dollar. Giving Gamestop a chance to bring in more customers to sell an EA game?

Things that make you go "hmm..."

Yes, it's going against the game. In fact, it's as much going against the game as paying some bloke to level up in WoW for you.

And it hurts the competitive nature of the game.

But, hey, Tier 1 doesn't sound to overpowered. Does it?

So in short, this shit goes on more than you might think. And yeah, I'm sure there are a lot of people who like to be "pro" and skip the leveling up. These people are usually joyless cretins though, so its all good. It does completely go against the spirit of the game, yeah.
I know GameStop makes pre-order offers all the time that unlock things that would normally take effort to unlock, but isn't Tier 1 the entirety of all the multiplayer experience?

Game Stop just wants your money.

People will cut corners, especially if it just requires them to go buy a game they already want and to pay the same price that they would anywhere else.

Good thing I live in NZ. Gamestop 'evil' (That's what I hear and see) does not reach our borders.
