Ok, I was watching an episode of the cartoon network show chowder (don't ask why), and in the episode, chowder is kicked out of his pet's wedding. So chowder says something along the lines of "But you said there would be cake, THE CAKE WAS A LIE!." When I heard it, I was all like "omg is that really a reference to portal?" It may or may not be, but it sounded like one. So tell me, what are some memorable moments when you realized on form of entertainment referenced another form of entertainment?

EDIT: Also, there is a reference to a book in the show "my life as a teenage robot." Go guess what it is from the quote.

Dr.Wakemen: What do androids dream of? Electric Sheep?

To defend him some cartoon shows of today are good, like Chowder, and flapjack

Also I don't know, it could be a reference

I always knew that show sucked and this proves it..they're trying to take something immensely popular so they can bump themselves up to mere mediocrity.

Flapjack is good, but I cannot stand Chowder for some reason...
There's just something about that show that pisses me off.

Yea, toonami was cool.
Didn't the first host of the show get killed by a shadow goo?

Borderlands is chock full of references to other things. One of my favourites is the mission where you have to kill "Jaynis Kobb" ruler of "Jaynistown."

Reminds me, in an episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, there is a character who looks remarkably similar to Lucas off Mother 3.

Wow, that was in Chowder? My liking of that show has greatly increased.

People need to stop hating on Chowder and Flapjack. They're actually pretty damn good, particularly when they show some creepy stuff.

In Left 4 Dead 2, when Nick is shot by friendly fire, sometimes he says "Are you really gonna shoot the guy in the $3,000 dollar suit? Come on!" and I almost cried. A very subtle Arrested Development reference that I doubt a lot of people got.

Phineas and Ferb has about a million references to Star Wars, cop shows, and other grown up things that the kids watching will never get. They even had a David Caruso shades+YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH! reference in an episode about the boys being detectives. That show rules.

I'd also heard that recently. It made me chuckle a bit.

But I *really* laughed when Family Guy had an epilogue where Peter played Modern Warfare on his new XBOX 360, even more so when I heard Quagmire say over his speakers 'Learn the damn game you noob!"

One of the most unsubtle references ever, but still funny.
