Did you see that?

Have you ever seen something, or heard something, noticed something that no one else has?

Like, let's say you have a good knowledge of history, as does your friend. Now let's say you're the only one who noticed that all the Empires in human history except modern ones pretty much fell to the ground.

So, have you ever noticed something that many did not, that you think is really quite obvious?

Not a real-real life thing, I guess, but I was playing a game of Serenity with a group of friends. There was this big firefight, and all of the people I was with were wearing ballistic space suits with polarized face shields. The leader of the group (which was a security detail), was saying "Shoot for the arms, don't kill anyone.".

After two shots almost kill a couple of the folk we're fighting, it's my turn, and I basically just yell over the com "It's DARK. We have POLARIZED FACE MASKS. JUST THROW YOUR DAMNED FLASHBANGS!"

...and then shot someone and killed them. The rest of my group got their heads out of their asses and threw a flashbang. Finished the fight in one go.

Stunned me that they didn't realise they'd been equipped with them. *shakes head*

Um...that Stalin was worse that Hitler? Seriously, a lot of people I meet never realize this. He killed about 50,000,000 people, he is famous for the quote "one death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic." This guy was seriously more evil than Hitler. If WWII had crippled their army, who knows what they would've done (or if Hitler didn't think Slavs were sub-human...)

I recall a moment in a game of Section 8. I was in the mortar seat of a loaded tank. The two people on my team not in the tank were taking on a control point guarded by the entire enemy team and several minigun turrets. It took me a moment to realise that the tank was sitting in the center of the battle and was taking nearly no damage, but not firing any weapons. Once I did, I said into my microphone; "Why don't we fire the tank at them?" Everyone on our team responded with an 'Umm...' before a complete fire hellstorm was unleashed from our tank. Because apparently only one out of six people knows basic military strategy like 'Fire the tank at them'.

50-fucking-million!? And the Holocaust was only, what, 2 million is the popular answer now? Or is it 6? Whatever.

The Russian government has always hated America, see Nikita Croschev, so I'm sure he would have destroyed us. Wonder if we could beat them...

I think 50 million is a slight exaggeration, but other than that he's completely right. Stalin had far more people executed than Hitler, but he never really gets the same kind of treatment we give to Hitler. Maybe it's because Hitler was prejudiced in his killings and Stalin pretty much killed everyone.

Yeah, either the race thing or the fact that he started a war.

"Everyone sucks but me."

Well I notice that I can disprove the perceived karmic alignment of anything that is massively popular (e.g. millions of people like gardens so they must be good) with what I like to call the "Rice Theory".

It will probably just earn me contempt for being odd so I'm not even going to elucidate on the subject... sorry.

So I'll go for something else, which is that I feel like I'm the only one to notice that people read more in the sixties than they do now, according to library books in my school and when they were last taken out (it's steadily decreasing, from many in the sixties, to a few in the seventies, and soon to just one person from nowadays, and that's usually me).

Could be. Either way, Stalin was a crazed monster. Though I wonder if things would've ended up differently had Lenin not died before WWII.
